You reading the hateful comments had me in stitches 🤣 and I don't know who this Rob Dyke guy is but from what I've read on him here until now, I'm sure he's a douche. Lol

Because I work in Television, the weekly grind is a schedule, I have no emotional attachment to the work I do. Some things that I do Are nearest and dearest to my heart but when the show is done and I have 32 minutes and I have to cut it down to 24 minutes so I can fit commercials, something has to go, and I have to make the choice quickly because it needs to go to air, even stuff I love has to be cut. Ive been doing it for 20 years so you don't get all hung up on imperfections, when you do it professionally it is totally different. Rob Dyke, Criminally Fisted, they are amateurs, sure allot of people may like them but they are so far down the quality latter, Television is for pros and you behave that way.

My boyfriend graduated from film school a couple years ago and while he has mostly done minimal work for his hobby/music projects (channel is liminal voices if you're curious), I've seen him work enough to know that the effects Rob put in are just standard effects in the editing apps and are very simple to insert. My boyfriend would be embarrassed by that shit too and takes the same pride that you do, which I think holds him back. A lot. How do you get over the perfectionism and self-discipline enough that you get out your content in a timely manner? He has such a hard time and has so much great material, imo, just from shooting shows that the public hasn't seen because he's neurotic when it comes to editing. Unless it's his favorite band (Soft Kill) and he wants to get it out and will put it out despite it's flaws, he'll sit on gold indefinitely because he gets caught up in the editing process and is embarrassed that people he considers his peers (people like you) will notice all his imperfections and tricks and refuses to upload crap. Thing is, look at the crap you point out which also happens to be very successful. We, the viewers, don't notice that stuff as much. I'm sure your viewers appreciate your quality but I'd bet most don't know what it is that makes you stand out and really just love your personality. I really just meant to comment on Rob Dyke and why I agree with you, but then ended up asking advice. I know you're not obligated so don't necessarily expect an answer, but thanks for reading our comments!
