My main reaction is this: who was watching those kids?!? In a dangerous medieval world where the children have the right to carry knives? and these children obviously saw the rivalries of their parents and older relatives with their history full of dirty laundry. Those adults should have hired them some au pairs and a dragon monitor.

Aemond immediately chooses to spin his own narrative and instead of being bullied he swaps roles to never be bullied again. He was ganged up on though and didn’t throw the first punch so I keep that in mind. In the end they are all kids who should not have been raised the way they were within the dirty laundry their parents had (pivotal point that we see play out post dinner)

2023-03-27 05:06:35 +0000 UTCOkay I’m probably only one from the patrons who sees Allicent just being a mother in all this. She went way beyond ofc and the first time I watched I was so pissed. But after rewatching and overall knowing Rhaenyras character- she really isn’t a saint either. We just see this from her POV. But imagine your son getting his eye stabbed out…. I would rage. What makes it worse is Viserys doesn’t really do much of anything and then focuses more on Rhaenyras children being called bastards (which they are though) as a mother I would be so angry. And Rhaenyra does do a LOT that she gets away with, meanwhile Alicent was true with her words imo. She did regret her actions which shows she still is human (as is everyone) but I think many purely hate her just because she is on the opposite side of rhaenyra. In my opinion each side has and will do terrible things- in this situation Allicent totally had a right to be angry, her son lost an eye. She never would have done what she did if Viserys showed more caring I think. Yo I rewatched it and OOOFFFF I get more irritated at rhaenyra each time I watch lol a kid lost an eye and the manipulation to switch it around …. Jeez I used to be all on her side but she makes it hard. They’re kids. Both Allicents and Rhaenyras.

2023-03-27 05:01:19 +0000 UTCYour response to Daemon laughing during the funeral service ("what is that, a trauma response?") had me dying! 😂 My own interpretation is that the Velaryon Uncle giving the speech was purposefully talking about the strength of the Velaryon blood to try to undermine Rhaenyra's children, and when Daemon realized what he was doing, he laughed to undermine and/or distract.

2023-03-06 13:17:10 +0000 UTCI'm sorry but Alicent is a bitch for making the "Entertaining his young squires" comment about Laenor because he could literally be killed for simply being gay. She's also a massive hypocrite essentially trying to shame Rhaenyra in ep 4 with her "You Targaryen's do have queer customs" only to betroth her son and daughter, like pick a damn lane Alicent and stick to it. There's times when I can tolerate her and then there's others where she drives me absolutely crazy. She's lucky she didn't get executed for hurting Rhaenyra and should be thankful that Viserys is the kind of man that he is. Also Laenor does have children, just because they aren't his by blood doesn't make him any less of a father to them. He helped raise them, he claims them, they're his. They're as much Targaryen as Alicent's kids are, everyone's running around acting like those boys don't have any Targaryen blood in them. Rhaenyra's entire conversation with Daemon was her saying that Laenor came up with a plan. "Fire is a prison....the sea offers an escape." Also idk how the writers fucked up the relationship between Aegon, Aemond, Helaena, and Rhaenyra's boys so badly. But they aren't cousins. Rhaenyra's boys are their nephews since Alicent's kids are Rhaenyra's half siblings. And lastly, Viserys dying wouldn't make Alicent Queen on her own. The seat would immediately pass to Rhaenyra, similar to how Tommen became King right after Joffrey's death.

Her main excuse use to be based off the bullshit Otto filled her ears with about the seven kingdoms not accepting a woman/queen & that Rhaenyra would end up having Alicent’s children executed to better secure herself. However, after Rhaenyra has her “Strong” sons, that becomes another excuse of Alicent’s to try to convince Viserys to name Aegon heir.
