little fun fact: the sept that is in kings landing in this show is a different one from GoT! the one in GoT was the sept of baelor, and baelor the blessed is a couple generations down from rhaenyra and daemon. the sept in this show is just a random sept!

2023-01-27 06:04:37 +0000 UTCthe stepstones are a chain of islands between westeros and essos at the south end of the narrow sea beside dorne. they are often infested with pirates and smugglers and such. basically whatโs going on in the stepstones is the free cities of lys, myr, and tyrosh cleared the stepstones of its pirate infestation. however, afterwards, they began putting higher and higher taxes on ships passing through. any ships that tried to get around them or refused to pay high taxes were getting captured and raided, and the passengers and such on the ships were getting tortured and killed or sold as slaves. since corlysโ house and wealth rely on trade, this is a HUGE deal for the velaryons. heโs getting daemon and some other men together to get rid of this triarchy and their leader, cragas drahar!
