If u rewatch, u can clearly tell Jon didnt go in the throne room planning to kill Dany. He went to hear her side and was desperate for her to say something to make him feel better. Dany changed Jons mind with her responses, u see it in Jon eyes when Dany said "They dont get to choose". Jon had to protect the realm and his family from Dany who said herself anyone who thinks differently will die. Sansa and Arya definitely wouldn't of bent the knee.

I was heartbroken for Jon at first, he deserves to be king, he's always been my king and so deserves much more happiness..But in the end i was happy he was in the true north with Ghost and Tormund, exactly where he wanted to be, he never wanted to be king, even tho he's clearly now the King beyond the wall. The starks have taken over everywhere do love that part..but also heartbroken again that they've all separated again. And we never got to see Nymeria, we were robbed abit..think we did need 10 episodes this season. Jon still to me is clearly the prince who was promised. Hes always protected the realm without ever wanting power or things in return. He united everyone to defeat the dead and even encouraged Arya's warrior side and training. Jon is also the reason Arya came back to Winterfell. Everyone had their part to play big and small, just a shame D&D had to rush things so much. Jon is finally free now, away from all the politics he hated and struggled with. Going beyond the wall with Ghost and people who love him regardless of his name. So i was happier in the end, knowing Jon was actually being set free. Drogon being alone and wailing broke my hear so much too, he helped break the wheel and understood what really killed his mother. The pursuit of that iron chair.

My bone with seasons 7/8 is they filled it with carrots and potatoes, but no meat. Characters going from point A to Z with no in between (traveling, dialogue, etc). I am fine with the logic of what happened. Dany obviously needed to die - she was a Cersei on steroids. But I do wish they had more episodes in the final 2 seasons to be able to play more into the storylines that the show was very great at doing in earlier seasons. IE, my favorite season was 4...I loved the Arya/Hound storyline (Hound is my favorite character), as they really showed all of the in-between in the story.
