I think Jaime is always confused about how he feels about Brienne. He truly admires her and likes her as a person. She's the kind of person he's always wanted to be and she brings out the best in him and he's protective of her- which just makes him like her more. Brienne faces the battle of not being born a man with honor, grace, talent, skill and a good heart fostered by her father. But Jaime's still in love with his twin sister - and as gross as it is - that's a DEEEEEEEP bond. Cersei brings out his worst impulses because he's desperately protective of her and she's a terrible person. Cersei faces the battle of not being born a man with pettiness, grief, cruelty and booze, fostered by her father. Jaime is torn between the two women he feels compelled to protect.

Littlefinger used Sansa to get the poison to the feast and Olenna took it from Sansa's neck (you can see Olenna doing this when she's talking to Sansa at the wedding) and put it in the cup. Incase you didn't see the comments for the last GoT reaction, that Jaime and Cersei scene was written as a consensual sex scene and somehow the director/cameraman/editor turned it into a rape scene. Even the actors said that's not what they were trying to portray. I don't know why the show runners didn't just re-edit it after it released but you are absolutely right. It doesn't make sense for Jaime to do that, specially because a major turning point for his character was saving Brienne from being raped. Can't wait for the rest of the season!
