“She” or “I”? [narration style poll]

While I’m planning the storytelling part for my Sleepy Lake project, I’d like to ask you another question! How do you think should the narration look like? Should it be from Selena’s eyes like: “I enjoyed the beautiful scenery outside”, or from the storyteller’s side, like: “Selena enjoyed the beautiful scenery outside”?

The narration style will probably affect the whole storytelling aspect because Selena obviously sees less than the storyteller. On the other side, her storytelling might be more… engaging?

There are also times when even while speaking in first person, she can talk about things happening outside of her perception if she's narrating the story from the future, instead of narrating from her point of view as she's taking place. But then you'd have to make it so the whole story is conveyed in past tense rather than present or past imperfect tense

A few years ago I wrote a furry science fiction story for a competition. Three-quarters of the way through I realized that it would have worked much better if I had used the protagonist as the narrator. First Person 'I' instead of Third Person 'he'. Of course by then I would have missed the deadline...
