Where are we currently (April 2024)

This month was a whole load of work. As a team we rebuilt Quimbly's internals once again to be able to load more content that I had outlined in my design documents. What's funny about this is we're like 90% done in one month where our old systems took us 4 to 5 months to get working, Instead of visual textboxes now we edit the dialog via textiles which should be really good for modding since modders would have access to all of our tools. The textbox system of prior had everything encrypted and using a node system only we could realistically use.

Old System:
We found this system was not enough when making the Roxanne update where over 400 nodes were in a single graph and it was starting to lag the unity editor

New System:

The new system is all text based and can be written to till the end of time before there would be any lag I could think of!


On a secondary note:

We have been working on our second project that only you guys (The patrons) will get to play for around 4 months after it's production and will get for free. It's coming along quite well, writing is Complete for one of the characters, the main menu and settings work as well as the text system and we even have a soundtrack in full production.
