Testing another concept:

This is something I'm going to play with a bit. Since this Patreon is mostly about supporting my animated endeavors online, I should be really transparent about as much relevant stuff (especially my computer) as I can. Somebody let me know if this is a bad idea, ha.

COMPUTER:

-Ever since the PSU failure (which usually ruins most of the computer's parts) the only thing I can tell was damaged was the CPU, which I've replaced. Ever since that was replaced, there seems to be no side effects from the PSU failure.

-My hard drive is old-ish for an HDD, but passes all SMART checks fine. No need to replace for a while.

-My old keyboard was having issues with the left shift and control keys, I bought a new one, this one's a cheap mechanical one that has a reputation for 1. being cheap and 2. lasting years.

-Once or twice a month, my mouse cursor launches itself downward constantly until I unplug and replug it. Tested, it's not the driver or the "gaming app" that works with it. The issue doesn't happen often enough to need to be replaced yet.

-Outside of the CPU, PSU and video card, all the parts to my computer are about 6 or 7 years old, but they're all functioning fine, so I'm in no need of a replacement there, either.

ME:

-No physical/mental health concerns, and I've been going out on long walks daily, just like I used to.

OTHER:

-My car is driving fine, but all the little unimportant bits (one of two trunk hydraulics, slight leaks of coolant and oil, AC compressor, driver-side vent, etc.) of it are falling apart, due to being a car from the mid 90's. Debating on whether I should sell it and get a motorcycle or a small 2-seater car instead. Disclaimer: if the car gets totaled or decides to quit working, I'll just sell it. I'm not going to pop in here like "OMG GUYS BUY ME A NEW CAR OR IMMA CRY". I prefer walking, anyway.

Comments

As long as I don't overdo it and talk about butt rashes or something, ha. Somebody please stop me if I start to give too much information!

So far, it seems like a good idea. Nothing wrong with being transparent about what's going on in life to your patrons.
