TFL Updates - First Week 2026!

I hope you all had a great start to the year!

This is the first week of the year, and I want to share what’s new with TFL.

I’ve been working since my vacation on improving the game visually and technically. I removed certain elements and implemented new systems that help make the game more stable, improve compatibility, and maintain a steady 60 fps. I noticed some pauses when loading effects or animations, and fixing those issues.

All of this work is done on test versions of the game to avoid crashing the original build.
There are still a few details I would like to add, but for now we have more than the essentials for what I consider a quality game. I truly hope you enjoy the changes, and I’d love to hear how the game feels once you try the new content!

Battler Selection

I’ve been reworking the system that limits battles to a maximum of four characters. What do you think about this new selection screen?
It’s slower than the previous one, but it allows us to add more details such as skills, HP, and technical information for each character.

New Battler

Goritama Futomaki!

A brand-new support character is now ready for battle, featuring 14 new skills, including special abilities and unique mechanics exclusive to this character.

This character is extremely fun to play, and I really hope you enjoy the gameplay and make good use of him in battles!

Improved COOP Skills

I’ve been working on making each COOP feel different and special. They now activate based on specific battle conditions, giving them more personality and strategic value.

Berkane – New Skills and Sprite Art

Berkane has received improvements to his skills, including changes to his Berserker Potion.
He can now launch water missiles, and his attacks finally use proper sprite animations!

New Battles

New battles within the Underworld are now ready!

This is a major milestone. As I put the final touches on all this new gameplay content, I’ll begin focusing more on the visual novel side of the game.

That said, gameplay was extremely important to me, perhaps more than anything else. From my perspective, this game should be fun, encourage players to learn how to perform better in each stage, and reward strategic thinking.

State Help (Hover Info)

Status effects can be confusing, especially when players don’t know what they do or how long they last.
I’ve now implemented a new feature that allows you to hover over the screen at any time to see exactly what each status effect does, helping you make better decisions during battle.

Improved Visual Effects

Backgrounds now load differently. Everything is properly centered while the camera moves (or remains static), and backgrounds no longer stretch like before. They now appear at the exact resolution I uploaded, making them much clearer and cleaner.

Battle Scene Transitions

Scene transitions during battle are now possible while fully respecting the existing battle system.
