I have a love/hate relationship with this movie. I watched the show when it first aired. When it ended, I could keep the whole crew together and imagine them all on Serenity. I could imagine Kaylee and Simon together. And Mal and Inara. Zoe and Wash were happy. And then I saw the movie and bawled my eyes out in the theater. The movie is brilliant and I love it! But, I just knew Joss Whedon wouldn't be able to do a whole movie without killing off some favorites. He loves doing that it his viewers. So, I love the movie but sometimes my heart wants to stick with the ending of the show, when everyone was still alive. I have a tattoo of the ship on my arm :)

My roommates put it on one night and I don't typically like the things they like, but I was OBSESSED. Up until today I always thought the movie was a repackaging and finishing off the series, I never realized it was 6 months later. That makes a lot of sense. The series was really slow going, because I already knew who my favorite characters were and the basic storyline. Though, I hear the series is a slow burn regardless. It's a great movie. I'm planning a massive painting with some of my favourite heroines and river is definitely on there, along with Buffy and faith. Always a good time watching with you. 💕

Another tv show I've been begging for you to watch since you started Patreon (Chuck) was a show that was so beloved by fans, we got it renewed time and time again. We bought so many Subway sandwiches, the show actually picked up Subway as a sponsor. We got Nestle to send thousands of Nerds candies to NBC. We donated thousands of dollars to American Heart Association in NBC's name. AND IT WORKED! We got 5 wonderful seasons of Chuck. I really think you'd like it... and the actor who plays Jane on Firefly is one of the main characters. There's LOTS of cameos on the show as well. You'll never know who might pop on the screen on Chuck!

But my sister and I were obsessed with Buffy from a very young age so when we saw the trailer for Serenity - and it was from the guy who made Buffy - we immediately begged our dad to take us to see it. After that we hunted down the DVDs and became obsessed. Watching the film in the cinemas with no prior knowledge of this world I still fell immediately in love with every bit of it.

2024-11-14 21:00:48 +0000 UTCHere we are. Watched this in theaters and when the famous "I'm a leaf on the wind" scene happened there was no pausing or stopping. Went into the final battle stuff with full on sobs. I'm happy we got the movie, but boy were parts of it devastating. Also my Dad watched the movie first and then insisted on watching the show. I went through the whole DVD with him and while he was a little disappointed that River wasn't as badass in the show, he overall enjoyed spending more time with the crew.
