This was a very experimental and powerful shoot for me. Not only because I was co-creating with another artist, but I was out of my comfort zone as far as my normal shooting style. I drew inspiration from Ancient Egyptian burial ceremonies, the huge role that Goddesses played in the culture, and the central belief in the afterlife.  I've always had such a fascination with the culture and time period so this shoot was actually really fun for me. I really wanted to capture the beauty that I personally hope comes with the darkness of death....the truth that our soul is just going somewhere else for the next little while. I'd love to know what you think. <3 j

Really awesome work. It really came through in the last couple of photos as well.

Thank you!! I also took Art History in college! My teacher was obsessed with the culture and would do class trips to Egypt and float down the Nile. I always wanted to go. Maybe someday :)

Aww, I love your support and encouragement. Thank you so much! It was so fun to experiment and show a different side of myself. Excited to share a little more from this shoot :)

Aww, thank you!! I'm glad you think so! That one might actually be my favorite as well :)

Jules

Thank you! The motion was definitely a key element in the concept.

Amazing set and love the inspiration behind it! As someone who did art history in college, it's so cool seeing shoots inspired from ancient civilizations' art and cultures, and I think it was really well done here

The lighting is perfect for the theme, bright light above, dark shadows below. Another incredible shoot, and getting to see you experiment and push your boundaries has been amazing.

I love the motion.

What a beautiful set! I think you absolutely nailed your goal on this one. Especially the 4th picture. It brings a feeling of death and beauty; something I find so fascinating.
