I’ve actually wanted to make this post for a while now. As many of you know, I absolutely adore double exposures. They’re something that I’ve focused on since I started shooting film, but especially in the last couple of years. I get messages from people asking me questions about my double exposure process and tips on how they can improve theirs. To me, that is absolutely one of the best compliments I could receive. And because it’s taken me years to hone my skill on the technical si...

This is a set that I shot around this time last year, but never posted. Except for the first photo. I was still experimenting with different types of moods, poses, and concepts…really coming into my own as an artist. But, I told myself only the first photo was actually good enough to post. I’ve learned so much since then about the importance of appreciating every single piece of art that I make, no matter how “good” it may be.
This set was shot at my old place, against my bathr...

Another BTS sneak peak of some new work that I’m excited about! I’m still finding little spaces in my new apartment where I can shoot self portraits. And knowing my obsession with lamps is here to stay, I’m trying find new ways to incorporate them and other light sources into my shoots. I recently purchased a little lantern that and thought it would work really well with the sheer curtains that I also recently put up. The lantern has multiple settings, and I love a good warm glow. It al...

I really appreciate everyone who participated and gave their feedback in my last poll! To give me a little better of an idea of what I can keep in mind for future shoots, what area would you like to see more diversity in?

A little BTS tease from one of my most recent sets. I finally got to shoot some self portraits in the fog!! This was one of those serendipitous days, where I actually had plans to do something else. I was planning to go to my favorite skate park, (Yes, I skate too!) but when I stepped outside and saw the beautiful fog, I quickly changed my plans. I grabbed my camera bag, tripod, and a change of clothes, and headed to my favorite path. When I got to my location, t...

I'm really looking forward to giving more energy to my art this year, and being more intentional with my community. I appreciate you all so much and really want to make sure that you're getting some good content. So, what should I be focusing on this year?

The last set from my old place. And yet another with my favorite mirror. I've been in my new apartment for 3 months now, but it almost feels like I took these in another life. It's bittersweet, but at the same time very therapeutic to post. There's nothing too artistic about these. I was simply just documenting my last bit of time there while simultaneously finishing a roll of film. This is another (and I think the last) that was shot on Kodak Gold 200, so they'...

Just wanted to share a little BTS video that I made recently to give you a better idea of what one of my self portrait sessions actually looks like. Sometimes the poses are planned, and sometimes they're spontaneous. A lot of the time I'm playing music to inspire the movements of my body. This is one of the 2 current rolls that I'm shooting, and will be sent off to the lab soon! I'm also planning to make a similar video showing you guys how I pose for double expo...

This is the first set that I've shot in my bedroom, and also another set that I shot on my Polaroid as well. What's really special to me about these photos is that I'm wearing my Great Grandmothers Amethyst necklace. I've loved it since I was a little girl. Right after I moved into my new place, my mother gave it to me (along with an old photograph of her) and I had been wanting to shoot with it. I never met my Great Grandmother, but I've always felt an incredib...

Part 2 of my light series that I shot during my last couple of weeks in my last place. This is another set that was shot using Kodak Gold 200 when I thought I was shooting Portra 400. So, again really surprised they turned out as well as they did. I'm actually really happy with how the shadows fall on my body. Especially in the first and sixth images. It's been a real learning experience attempting to light myself properly over the last year of using my self time...

Just a couple of images that I took in the last couple of weeks at my previous place. The magazine clipping is something that I wanted to remind myself of every time I felt like I wasn't far enough or doing enough. It's a reminder to myself to live with more intention. And something that I want to carry with me into 2025 and really apply to my life more.

These two sets were shot back in July when flowers were still in full bloom. If you know my work, then you know I love shooting with flowers- and these are my two favorite flowers. If they look familiar, it's because I posted both of these polaroid sets a couple of months ago. They're a little over exposed- I thought I was shooting Kodak Gold, but was really shooting Portra 800. Nothing too artistic - I just loved that warm bathroom light so much. I'd literally t...

Just a couple of my favorite nature shots from my last couple of rolls that I wanted to share with you. Shot at two of my favorite places close to home, where I've shot several times over the years with a few different photographers. I really love the first photo, and I'm hoping to go back for a self port sesh in similar weather conditions. I was pretty bummed I didn't have my tripod with me when I saw that fog. If you look closely, you can see a spiderweb in t...

This is the first set that I've shot in my new place. I think I had been here maybe 2 or 3 weeks, and was still feeling really unmotivated artistically. This was totally unplanned. It was late. I looked over an just really liked how my new lamp looked, and the soft light that it gave off. So, I grabbed my camera and stripped down. I feel like that's how a lot of my self portrait sessions start. I'm just really inspired by a space and how it feels, and I want to be in it. Oft...

Here is a set of my most recent double exposures as well s a few pics I snapped on my phone of the first exposures. I thought you guys might be interested in seeing more of the bts of how I create my double exposures. I usually shoot myself first and use a white wall or something as clean and neutral as possible for a backdrop. The Third image was shot at my old place, using my white bathroom wall. The rest were shot at my new place, on my bed. I love all of these doubles, b...

This is one of the last sets that I shot in my old room and shared a sneak peak of last month. I think it was the last or second to last weekend there. I was juggling all sorts of emotions and feeling so scattered. I remember seeing the morning light, picking up my camera, and feeling an instant sort of calm. Shooting self portraits has been so therapeutic for me, and truly a safe space to turn to. I’m so incredibly grateful for this new chapter, but I’m sure going to miss that morning li...

Another set of Polaroids that I shot at the same time as the last set that I posted. I don’t like these nearly as much- but still like the vintage vibe that the warm tone setting gives. I feel like I could have done more with the posing. But, at the same time I like the feeling of catching in between moments.
Shot on Fujifilm Instax mini with Fujifilm Instax mini 90

I honestly love this whole set, especially the last double exposure. I shot these the night before last on my Instax mini. I think this is the first time that I’ve actually shot a whole set using Polaroids.
The Instax is super light sensitive so I underexposed them by using a dark setting. I also used the warm tone setting and I love the added glow to the images. The last 3 are double exposures. I added a closer look at the second...

Just a little teaser for you guys! After 3 weeks, I’m finally feeling settled in my new place. As the winter weather approaches, I’m feeling an overwhelming desire to hibernate. But, I’m also feeling my creative flow coming back. Over the last couple of days, I felt a creative spark that I haven’t felt in months, and it lead me to shoot my first couple of self portrait sets in my new place. I was able to finally finish a couple of rolls that will be mailed off to the lab today (So, n...

Film related or not! You can post them here or send me a dm if you’d rather. I’m going to try my best to get a video out early next month.

This set is from a collab I did this last July with another film photographer that I’ve been a fan of for a few years now. He reached out to me maybe a year and a half ago and asked me if I’d like to collab. Our schedules conflicted for about a year before we could make it happen. But when we finally got the opportunity to shoot, it was an absolute perfect and beautiful day. This was also the same day I shot my self portraits in the creek. These are my favorite film images that he took. I...

These two sets are from late last year and early this year- I was shooting a lot in my room and experimenting with light, both natural and artificial. I much prefer natural light and loved that I got so much of it in my bedroom. I was also still in the early stages of using my self timer and learning how to light and frame myself properly. There was no concept. Just light and experimentation. I never posted these sets because I didn’t think that they were really any good. ...

I'm just about done moving and unpacking! It's been such a hectic last couple of weeks. As I'm settling in to my new place and feeling ready to pick my cameras back up and create, I'm also going back through old work. I wanted to share these- I had taken a few self portraits up to this point, but this is really where it all started for me. This was the first self portrait set that I took in that space- the space that would be my home for 4 long years. It was the ...

Just a little sneak peak of a little set I shot yesterday. While I was busy packing and reflecting, I noticed how beautiful the light was. So, I grabbed my Pentax K1000 and my favorite self portrait mirror. This weekend is my last weekend living in this space. It's so bittersweet, and I'm trying to let myself feel it all. About an hour or so after I shot this, I broke down and just sat on the floor and cried. I've been in survival mode for so long, It feels hard to le...
