*Chapter 9: Eye Transplant*

After treating their injuries, organizing ninja tools, and recovering their strength and chakra, everyone quickly adjusted themselves. Even Yoru (Night) sat in place, taking a brief rest.

Although he hadn’t killed many people during this mission, the 5,000 points earned from defeating Uchiha Shisui were quite substantial.

“Open the exchange panel,” Yoru commanded.

At his thought, a special panel appeared before him.

*[Hōgyoku]*

- Item Grade: SSS

- Item Description: A crystal that manifests a person's innermost desires, evolving infinitely according to their wishes. Though small, it contains limitless potential for evolution.

- Price: 5 million points.

*[Asauchi]*

- Item Grade: S

- Item Description: A blank Zanpakutō, extremely sharp and with some self-repair capabilities. By infusing it with spiritual essence, it can attain Shikai and Bankai forms.

- Price: 100,000 points.

*[Zanpakutō: Ichimonji]*

- Item Grade: SSS

- Item Description: …

Yoru quickly skimmed through the list. He had only 8,300 points, which was a mere drop in the bucket compared to the millions of points required for the higher-tier items.

If he were to earn points by just killing ninjas, he’d need to take down 5,000 jonin just to exchange for the Hōgyoku! But were there even 5,000 jonin in the entire ninja world?

Shaking his head, Yoru shifted his focus to another item.

*[Mystery Box]*

- Item Grade: ?

- Item Information: Upon opening, you will randomly receive a special item.

- Price: 1,000 points.

“System, give me eight mystery boxes!” Yoru said decisively.

*[Exchanging 8 Mystery Boxes will cost 8,000 points. Proceed with exchange?]*

“Exchange!” Yoru confirmed without hesitation.

The prices for the higher-end items were way out of his reach, so he had to rely on mystery boxes to sustain himself.

What, you think mystery boxes are useless? What a joke. All those high-level Hado and Bakudo techniques Yoru mastered—where do you think they came from?

It's like gambling: take a chance, and a bicycle can turn into a motorcycle. Yoru was ready to gamble big!

*[Do you wish to open 8 Mystery Boxes?]*

“Single openings are a waste. A five-pull guarantees something decent. I’m doing an eight-pull… Open the boxes!”

As Yoru gave the command, the boxes before him emitted a dazzling light, and the next moment, eight beams of light emerged.

*[Congratulations! You’ve received ‘Shunpo Training Card x3,’ ‘Bakudo No. 21: Sekienton,’ ‘Spiritual Power Training Card x1,’ and ‘Swordsmanship Training Card x3.’]*

The eight items floated before Yoru. Moments earlier, he had been excited and full of energy. Now, he was deflated.

“Damn it, gambling never works!” he muttered.

Seven of the eight items were training cards, and one was a low-level Bakudo spell. The worst part? Yoru already knew that Bakudo!

He had totally lost out on this gamble.

After using up all seven of the training cards, Yoru closed the system panel, now broke and despondent, staring at his subordinates.

The nearly 7,000 points he had accumulated were now gone. Who knew when he would run into another easy target like Uchiha Shisui…

Wait, Uchiha Shisui!

“Yumi, come over here for a moment,” Yoru called softly.

The red-haired woman who had been treating Yuriko’s wounds instantly came over, looking at Yoru with some nervousness.

“What’s wrong, Lord Yoru? Are you injured somewhere? Please, let me…” she began to suggest, offering herself.

“Cut that out. I’m not injured!” Yoru interrupted with a sigh.

He pushed away Yumi, who had already started pulling her clothing down and was trying to rest Yoru’s head on her shoulder. From his pocket, he took out a sealed scroll.

While murmuring quietly, he cast a spell.

“Bakudo No. 73: Tozanshō!”

Immediately, an inverted triangular barrier formed, enclosing Yoru and Yumi inside.

Yumi’s eyes widened in shock at the sight of the crystal-like walls surrounding them. “Crystal Release?!” she exclaimed.

Her face quickly turned a bright pink, eyes transforming into heart shapes as she shyly glanced at Yoru. “Lord Yoru… Is this finally the moment… you want me?” she whispered bashfully.

“Can you get a grip?” Yoru said, exasperated.

Ignoring her, Yoru opened the scroll and revealed a transparent glass container.

“What’s this?” Yumi asked, her disappointment showing despite her curiosity. Then, her eyes widened in shock as she saw the blood-red eye inside. “A Sharingan?!”

“Yes,” Yoru confirmed with a nod. “If I transplant it, will there be any issues?”

“There shouldn’t be any major issues,” Yumi replied, deep in thought. “The rejection response for eyes is minimal. I could perform the transplant myself. However, because of the Sharingan’s unique nature, you won’t be able to deactivate it without Uchiha blood. You’ll be stuck with it in its three-tomoe form.”

“In that state, the chakra and physical toll will be significant.”

Yoru had expected this.

He remembered Kakashi from the original story, who exemplified the consequences of implanting a Sharingan.

Kakashi, the son of Konoha’s White Fang, was a genius who created techniques like the Raikiri, blending nature and shape transformation. His achievements were unmatched. But after receiving the Sharingan, he suffered from chakra exhaustion after every battle. He could only cover his Sharingan, living as a one-eyed ninja.

Yet even with these drawbacks, Yoru was still eager for the power of the Sharingan in his hands.

After all, this was the eye that granted its user the ability to control the will of others through the strongest genjutsu—Kotoamatsukami!

Though Yoru’s Shinigami powers were formidable in this world, they had a critical weakness: genjutsu.

The world of ninjas had an entire system dedicated to illusions, while the Shinigami’s power set offered no real counters to it. This was one of the reasons Yoru had been so cautious in all his dealings.

Yoru needed a way to defend against genjutsu, and the three-tomoe Sharingan before him offered a solution!

“Yumi, help me transplant it,” Yoru decided after a moment of silence.

Yumi nodded, taking the glass container from Yoru and pulling out her medical equipment.

In the enclosed space of Tozanshō, Yumi began the delicate process of removing Yoru’s eye and replacing it with the Sharingan, carefully connecting the optic nerves and blood vessels.

Watching Yoru endure the procedure without flinching, Yumi bit her lip. She offered her arm to him, “Lord Yoru, biting down can help speed up the fusion process.”

Yoru rolled his eyes but obliged, sinking his teeth into her arm. “Don’t make weird noises!” he complained.

“I-I’m sorry, Lord Yoru,” Yumi stammered, clearly affected by the intimate gesture.

Her face flushed with a deep pink as she continued the transplant.

“Please trust me, Lord Yoru. I’ll make sure the operation succeeds…”
