Sacred Symbols, Episode 356 | Can You Hear the Rumble That's Calling?

It's been a very busy week in PlayStation Land. For starters, Sucker Punch's long-awaited follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima -- Ghost of Yotei -- has a release date. It'll be coming to PS5 on October 2nd, alongside a non-linear, almost Mega Man-like gameplay structure. We're excited! Let's discuss. Then: Bethesda's Oblivion Remastered has finally arrived, PS5's new firmware memorializes the 30th anniversary celebration once an for all, Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders light up the internet, Star Wars is getting a strategy RPG, and lots of others news, too. Finally: Listener inquiries! How come Sony subsidiary Aniplex isn't publishing Danganronpa-like The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy on PlayStation 5? Which existing entertainment properties would best benefit from the Supermassive/Quantic Dream "CYOA" formula? Is the Catholic Church really canonizing a "gamer saint"? Which Last Stand contributor should we replace with AI first?

Chris doesn’t like super communist party…hmm

Man it is a shame some of yall were such annoying babies about the stuttering Craig thing. I too am not a fan of the guy, but I relish the idea of Colin interviewing anyone, especially people with controversial, and opposing beliefs. Crying about platforming is lame as hell, can we all just chill pleeeeease.

Definitely felt like Colin was indirectly talking to Chris with the Body type 1&2 thing, ngl

Chris says he's a Kart racing game fan, but what other kart racer does he love outside of ctr?

Anyone hear Dave Ramseys excuse for excessive wealth and property is that it’s not his it’s Gods. Can I use that excuse for debt? Excuse me sir it seems like you have $40,000.00 in credit card debt. “No no that’s actually that’s Gods credit card debt…. Praise him and his will 🙏🙏” 😂😂🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Question, LSM staff, why are we seeing ads on our paid Patreon posts?

Colin doesn't like the well-received AAA Xbox 1st Party Xbox game. I'm shocked.

Overall a good episode. I wanted to touch upon two things that were talked about: 1. The type 1/2 or A/B - this is a bigger issue than people act like it isn’t. It’s one thing to have certain “woke” things in games. It’s another to try and redefine male and female. That’s extremely radical. I’m glad Colin at least sees it. My take on this is this exactly - 2+2=5. That’s the logic with the whole type A/B thing. If they can get you to redefine male and female, they can make you either believe anything or be ok with anything. No one is actually offended by male and female. Even if you take into account the people who they are targeting - if you transition, you are transitioning to male or female. It would be the most extreme, of an extreme group that might be offended by this. The vast vast majority shouldn’t be subjected to the extreme minority. This leads into the discussion at the end. The person who wrote in the question was highly dismissive of actual problems. Labeling everyone who is “anti woke” as doing it as a grift is highly disingenuous. The thing is, there are legitimate and insane left wing ideas being forced into games. Radical ideas that no one actually believes are being forced into games and shoved down average people’s throats. As stated from Colin, I also don’t think Grummz plays games. I don’t even like Grummz myself. But that doesn’t mean there are points that get brought up that aren’t legit issues. I don’t agree with what Colin said about the last of us 2 and trans ideology. It would be one thing if it was in the last of us 2 and that’s it. This is an extremely small group of people and trans stuff (including the type A/B stuff) is being forced into more and more games that vastly outnumber the percentage in the world and that even play video games. The whole reason why there is any type of backlash because this stuff has been shoehorned into games for a long time now, with a games media that make it a point to insult any gamer who doesn’t toe their line 100 percent. I play games of all types, and have for decades. Most games aren’t right wing or conservative. I don’t want them to be just that. But to act like gaming doesn’t lean left, would be highly inaccurate. Besides some Japanese games morals/beliefs, most western games lean very left. I like having a mixture of ideas in gaming and stories, but I don’t want glorified propaganda pushed on them like with the type A/B stuff or constant LGBTQ stuff in everything imaginable. I’m not even saying to take that out of games but it’s being pushed into every little thing. People would be complaining if everything was just right wing, and rightly so. I just feel like it gets called out with the anti woke people but not the other side. It was even talked about with Stuttering Craig being on the show - it wasn’t the anti woke people who are lambasting Last Stand in that situation. It’s always the far left people in gaming and politics who act entirely totalitarian and try and push anyone who doesn’t agree with them out of the space. If I can talk about these issues without insulting anyone and presenting ideas in a thoughtful way, so can others. But it has to be done in a realistic way. Inclusion doesn’t mean propaganda, and inclusion doesn’t mean exclusion of others.

With the amount of times my ps2 disc wouldn’t read on the console, those UI sounds became pretty familiar to me. I love that they brought it back in the new update!
