I don't necessarily care about 100% completion, but I will follow a guide to make sure I see everything important in one playthrough. I want to see all that the devs intended efficiently so I can move on to the next game satisfied, instead of having to replay for what was missed. That would be a bad time in my book and it doesn't feel like a job to avoid.

Coming from an avid trophy and achievement, Xbox and Steam for more than a decade. If you really love a game, played it a bunch and just can’t get enough? Go for it. Otherwise you’re setting yourself up for a bad time. Don’t turn your enjoyable hobby into a job you must commit to
