I think the biggest reason people vote for Kamala is because they see the scary and nightmarish gathering of any people by a large government and deporting them is extremely scary and outweighs any other issue. This year has simply been one of the worst years for incumbents across Western democracies across the planet. Any party that’s in power during the post COVID era inflation got blamed for it by their people (rightly or wrongly) and got kicked out or lost a lot of power. Just look at Japan’s LDP losing power after holding it for 15 years, rise of far right parties like AfD in Germany and France toppling establishment parties, Rishi Sunak in the UK bowing out, political instability in Israel. The elections in Japan ain’t exactly about trans people or free speech. Tl;Dr: It’s 99% economic, everything else is downstream from there.
