For starters, Insomniac's long-in-development licensed Marvel title Wolverine (first revealed to the public way back in 2021) has lost both its game and creative directors, an ominous sign that something has gone seriously wrong behind-the-scenes. Meanwhile, two Sony-owned teams -- Firewalk and Neon Koi -- have been shuttered outright, ending any glimpse of a return for the troubled service game Concord, and stymying mightily Sony's glacial mobile initiatives. Between blowing billions on Bungie, the disaster of the aforementioned Concord, the cancellation of a slate of fare (including The Last of Us Online), and a trickling first party pipeline, what exactly is going on at Sony? And who's responsible for this mess, anyway? We have an enormous amount to discuss. We wrap things up with listener inquiries, of course. What are some of our favorite defunct gaming websites? Should the Tales JRPG series be played in a certain order? Is Sonic experiencing a sales (and critical) renaissance? Can we stop with all the flagrant tipping, already?

Kinda Funny is such a ridiculous company now. I left during the 2020 election after they told Trump voters they weren’t welcome there. I’m not even a Trump supporter, but I couldn’t stand the hypocrisy of their vitriol in saying that. They are SO blind to the fact that they are doing the EXACT thing they are taking a stand against. If the table orders drinks, now a bartender gets a percentage of that tip, unfair if you take into conconsideration most bartenders are salary these days. If the customer grabs to-go, a percentage goes to the kitchen. Also, every ticket has a percentage that goes to the House. Often times, right now, servers are paying to be at work.

2024-11-02 23:39:52 +0000 UTCI am not a suit, so I only enjoy the business side from the bleachers, but when Colin talks to not buying companies that you haven’t worked with personally, on an exclusive level, I thought of one exception (imo)… Q-Games, developers of a number of great indies (Tomorrow Children did not speak to me, but I digress), would have been a solid (and financially conservative) investment. Now, of course they may not want to be acquired but, as a fan of the indie creativity boom that was PS3, it would have pleased me. 😊 * obviously, shout out to ‘thatgamecompany’, who made incredible games as well. Another acquisition pass that surprised me. 🤷♂️

To me it seems like making a blanket like that a game’s writing sucks based off a five minute clip to your large audience isn’t very far removed from people review bombing a game that haven’t bought. I know it’s such a minor thing, but I think being more conscious about how we speak about things would be a small step in helping the unhealthy discourse issue. Just my two cents.

I’m always shocked that lawyers or others looked at some of those things (spelling errors/blatant typos/etc) and either didn’t notice or just passed it along as fine. I totally get the tipping culture with regard to waiting staff at restaurants, bar staff etc. No issues with any of that. But there were times when I was at say a show, and literally just getting a bottle of water from the concession stand - and this chick behind the register shoves this screen towards me with an option to tip between 18 - 22%... That's when shit is getting out of control lol
