Couple episodes back she was asking him to play with an image in his mind and he couldnβt figure out what that image was until he remembered her and him in the music room.

2025-08-04 20:04:33 +0000 UTCI don't think that him playing for Kaori is anything the same as him playing for his mom, like the dynamic is so different, he was younger and thought playing for his mom would actually save her life, and she was abusing him. Kaori re-ignited his passion and has given him support and kindness. I also don't think if she dies his last words to her will be 'I hope you die' so there would probs be less mental trauma there :P

But I believe playing for Kaori is better because she is his inspiration like he was to her. And the most important thing is that it's his choice, not one he's being forced into. It is going to hurt him as the way the show is playing out we know she's going to pass, but I have a feeling Arima knows Kaori would HATE if he stopped playing because of that.
