I am going to go a step further, I don't believe both the first Nice and Moon are truly the original Nice and Moon. I find it very weird that there was a seamless plan to change Ling into Nice so suddenly. It feels like they've done this before.

Is the same reason I'm going to watch Chinese subs over Japanese dubs for chinese shows. Watching Japanese dub for a Chinese show makes even less sense if you don't speak Japanese. Original voices with the intended dialog and inflection. And it matches the lip animation.

I would not put this on the same level. It is still really good. And I'm glad we're finally getting more high quality 3d animation for mature audiences that embraces 3d instead just trying to be budget 2d animation.

2025-04-09 12:13:11 +0000 UTCexceeding it is a stretch, but its still insane that its close to being on par, it doesnt have the polish of arcane, but some things are clearly down to choice i.e. how characters talk and move in arcane its more melodramatic here its more overcomedic. tbh at this point i think its kinda impossible to exceed arcane, more importantly how so? more animation switches doesnt automatically mean better animation, the detail can hardly be increased anymore without becoming noisy and actually hurting the overall image quality and please dont think im just glazing arcane here, but arcane definitely had the biggest influence on animation in the last decades by establishing this 2d/3d animation mix and theres a few nice shows that utilized the same principle like blue eye samurai which is also gorgeous but not quite on arcanes level (then again, budget) but matching it is definitely possible and maybe even some day it will be exceeded but this soon? definitely to early to tell and still insanely unlikely cause the bar is so high and was hit consistently for over 12 hours without one bad frame. i remember this community shutting me down for wanting more animation like arcane and calling out japanese animation for not being as innovative. this show definitely proves me right and shows that it can be done, and probably with much less budget than arcane, then again wages are way lower in china so everything is less pricey. but to make a long story short im just happy we're getting more of this quality level of animation and of couse these shows will have deviations in style kinda like with normal animes. and just like with them we have objective quality in animation and then style which results in your personal preference leaning either way, meaning that theres anime that could be considered to be animated the best but there definitely isnt only one right answer i.e. redline, ghost in the shell and your name are all in wildly different genres within anime, have incredible style and detail yet theyre all animated insanely well and it just comes down to choice which one you prefer. and its going to be the same with this style as we already have blue eye samurai, some LDR / Secret level episodes, spiderverse and tnmt animated movie, also the upcoming predator killer of killers movie all use this style and in high quality. the biggest thing affecting my personal preference is wether its a high frame rate look like in arcane or here, or more of a low frame rate look like in spiderverse or blue eye samurai

Anime is generally far better in sub than dubs. Dubs also tend to completely change some lines, lines they could just as easily translate directly from their original language counterpart.

2025-04-09 02:22:45 +0000 UTCI feel like Sheera's theory is the closest because in my mind after watching it makes sense that the real Moon died first, which is the "incident" that was mentioned earlier, so they replaced her with someone else but he prolly kept the body otherwise I feel like they would have just got rid of it like Nice's body. What happened next IMO is that once he hit his breaking point he went flying to clear his head where he just happen to stumble upon Lin Ling looking like he was about to jump. This is what gave him the motivation to die as he knew they would look for a replace with someone else and when Nice saw how he looked like him up close he knew that was his only shot to finally be free of his pain of having The Hero "Nice" who is ranked number 10 btw.

Although he didn't create it, he was also the director for the Heaven's Official Blessing anime adaptation which is really good. Link Click and the To Be Hero shows were created by him as well as directed but the previous 2 To Be Hero shows aren't very highly rated so we'll have to see about this one. Either way at least the animation will be insane.
