We are never gonna see any of this again for the foreseeable future because all the focus is on Ultra Ego and UI

He saw how popular Broly was and asked Toriyama to bring him back, he saw how unpopular GT was but how popular SSJ4 was so he asked Toriyama to write a story using some GT story beats while making SSJ4 canon. The Goku Black arc exists because of him. He knows how popular Future Trunks was so he wanted Trunks to return to please the fans. While doing this makes sense at the moment (nostalgia is a hell of a drug, especially to a very general audience), but it will make the series soulless at some point. I'm hoping Toyotaro is given the respect that he deserves when more animated DB content comes back. He's the successor for a reason.

I see everything he did as like a final hoorah in tribute to himself and japanese audiences who haven't seen these concepts in 20+ years. I do believe that we will get the super manga adapted, but they are just creating a plethora of buffer space so they don't run into the anime being ahead of the manga, and ending up with 3 different versions of the same story.

Piccolo is of the warrior clan, he can't unlock people's potential. Dende is of the Dragon clan, he can unlock people's potential and create dragon balls. He never incorporated similar features for no reason unless they were related. SSJ4 is identical to SSG in the shade of red and eye colour. Moreover the silhouette we see in Beeru's dream looks exactly like an adult version of Vegeta in what would a supposed SSJ4. I believe this suggests that SSJ4 is supposed to be a sort of 'true form' of SSG that they'll learn to access in the future. The fact that Broly was developed further beyond the movies, including the details about the form he used, makes Roshi's argument redundant as what is the point of a training arc with his character if he won't go on to be used more in the future? It's beyond fan service to set up a character who will continue to be relevant to the plot. Yall were the same people saying that SSJ4 would never be canon, that Vegeta would never get SSJ3 and look where we are. You need to learn to think beyond recency.

IMO I love that they brought SSj4 into the mix, because now it's canon and if Toyotarou ever wanted to bring it back for future Super arcs he can now. I feel like Neva basically unlocked the potential of SSj4 in Goku for a time. Later down the line it can be brought back into the story if they want or maybe by the end of Daima they get their memories erased and that's why we don't see them change in Super, bc they forgot about the form. Who knows...either way It was still cool to see.

The manga is currently has about 2 seasons worth of content so we know exactly what to expect in the anime if you've read the manga. I don't see why they would make an entire new story for the anime now that the manga is ahead. Also, nothing that happened in top aside from getting UI is needed to start the Moro ark.

Super is meant to appeal to the power level, EPIC FIGHTS portion of the DBZ fanbase who value the animation and fights more than the story or characters (Post Cell Saga). Daima is meant to appeal to the older generation of Dragon Ball fans who like the original DB, the original DBZ arcs, and GT, these types of fans prefer the story and world building / characters over the fights. Super fans hate Daima because it's too slow paced and too much "recycling old ideas" and Daima fans hate Super because it's "too shallow and follows the same generic formula of Goku/Vegeta get new powerup and beat bad guy"

And they saw it as a cool opportunity to use SS4 I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of this someone asks about it and goku says something like its a form I can only access in the demon world

The point of Daima is to establish more world building, fill in plot holes, and be a link between Z and Super. Idk why people feel the need to make it a Super vs Daima fight, both can be good and be their own thing. You may not like it but SS4 Goku is one of the most iconic and important figures in DB history and it was a great thing for the franchise to address it and make him canon finally. It only helps the series. SS4 existing doesn't take away from Super and SSG existing doesn't take away from SS4

I really don't know why they didn't add this as the SSG form instead of it just being red hair then go SSB. If you go back to Battle of the Gods when Beerus was talking about the Legendary Super Saiyan the silhouette of the scene looks like a SSJ4 Vegeta.

This series is a return to form from OG Dragon ball, with these last couple episodes basically being a showcase of Toriyama’s love for the “rule of cool”. I think they’ll give Toyataro’s work some shine in the future (they have been putting it off) but I think this series was a good way to fill the gap and scratch that nostalgic itch for fans

If Daima is to be a love letter to Dragonball's history, I can appreciate it for that. Context matters. DBS ended up moving faster than expected so I get why they needed to slow things down. But it feels like Daima is a stop-gap for what is to come because I don't think they wanted the fans to wait even longer after the time from when Super ended.

Super Saiyan 4 exists within db Daima? Also the whole new idea thing is insane, not only has Daima so far been almost 100% new ideas and things we've never seen before, but even though SS4 was obviously created decades ago, it is handled completely differently within Daima, and it's clear that they're going to give it some sort of Demon-Exclusive ties rather than it just being the form that comes after SS3. Overall? I think it's a squidward ass take to just call this another case of them repeating the past. Cuz personally I could do w/o SSG or SSB . Cuz I always felt like removal of their tails was lame, even as a kid. To me the only thing that made them saiyans was zenkai boosts and their love for battle after that. In that way they aren't much different than any other race. And instead of their transformations progressively changing their demeanor and/or appearance like 2-4, Ikari, UI and UE does; They opted to palette swap their base forms and SS forms. Which was boring. But with this form now I like the changes, even if it doesn't come back. The more ape like hands, the animal like fighting style, the potential nod to why SSG is red, the fact that it DID NOT age him up, and if they decide to introduce Gogeta and keep his color scheme; His hair being that orangish-red will make more sense. The fact that a Black haired and Dark-Brown haired SSJ4 fusion's hair was that color always bothered me.

It does give him some more ideas to make arcs out of or something but the recons would be hard to explain. Who knows, we might see a future arc taking place in the demon world, maybe god ki doesnt work there or the main antagonist steals god ki, idk, and they are forced to find neva and unlock ssj4 again because they cant using ssj god and above. THAT's the only explanation that all of this would make a lot of sense.... Also now that I remember something, w/ Beerus and Whis, they watched the flashbacks to Goku vs Frieza battling on Planet Namek before they met, and then the Kai and the Clown also watched the action w/ whatever happens in the Buu Saga... Like I'd love it if they stopped doing the flashbacks to piggyback on and just let the show breathe and do its own thing...

They could have gave broly true ssj4. Goku = angel path Vegeta = god path Broly = sayain path. So broly getting ssj4 would get it make sense. Im will be fine goku getting this if this was leading to monkey king transformation. Usually ssj4 as a baseline but currently not good

I would keep Daima as it is since it's a tribute to GT but I think after this we should get super stuff. From things I’ve read, the demon world we see here may come back in a future Super arc and with the whole Super anime situation, I think it’s because they want to build up so much story from the manga to adapt but that takes forever since it’s only a monthly release. Probably a bunch of other factors at play too. They honestly need to bring Super back as a seasonal anime instead of a ongoing series

Personally I am hyped as hell to see this in a new Dragon Ball anime and I love Broly, but I can see how it would be frustrating to people reading Super and waiting for the story to continue. I think what they are trying to do is establish a consistent canon and lore for the series, which is why they keep revisiting these older characters. they want to make a solid timeline where these characters exist and are part of the DB universe instead of just non-canon spin-off characters. I would not be surprised at all if we get a new Super anime sometime soon after Daima. The entire point of Daima seems to have just been to fill in the gap between Super and Z and to fill in some of the lore and plot holes.

They can't touch any story points of the manga unless they come to an agreement on it so it's highly unlikely we'll ever get manga content
