Also, I found that last fight to be bull in terms of witing to me. Richter could have easliy just burned the corpse that was right there in front of him. Alucard, now I have no idea what was going on with him when it came to chasing Drolta. Did he just forget his sword's familiar abilities? He could have easily just had it fly around to her at that moment.

2025-01-28 02:34:28 +0000 UTCThose words kind of hit different because Maria is a teenager with more of a revolutionary and anti-establishment POV, but Carmilla is the evil girlboss that wants to be as bad as the man she criticizes, she just thinks she’ll be smarter. It doesn’t quite feel like a parallel, but is a nice nod at the first series. On the topic of Carmilla, got to say one of the best antagonists, or characters in general. I wish the original series leaned a little more on her misandry. Jaime Murray (such a good actress) delivers that one line “the humans are sticking together”; which is fine, but I keep thinking just one word changed, something along the lines of “the boys are sticking together” would have fit Carmilla’s character and that moment so much better.

It’s though because narratively I don’t know what fight he could be in and not be realistically killed or written off somehow, like I can’t see him story wise survive a direct fight with Drolta or Erzebet unless it’s the final battle and that would be way further in the season or even later in the series. The “Asura” night creature that is so hostile towards Edouard is kind of lame and doesn’t make for a great boss fight. Maybe if other noble/royal armies like Austria or Prussia attack France, we could get a secondary plot where he assist the revolutionary forces and have his own boss fight against a new forge master or high ranking vampire from the game.

And the forge theory is solid. But they already told us Ersebet is the vessel for sekhmet. The vessel is complete upon drinking sekhmets blood and the power stored in the heart. The Ba & the Ka.

Remember how the Abbot said he saw visions of a horrible hell and laughter with voices whispering his name? Yeah, that was the figure that took him away. Basically think of it as him going past hell straight into SUPER hell. My dude is cooked for eternity, he gonna miss the feeling of just being burned alive. Maria sent my guy straight to the shadow realm... I mean, I don't blame her, but DAMN.

I think he’s just fan service for the girls and the gays, or maybe they actually tried to make a character analogue to Isaac and it just didn’t work. Every character seem to be getting a power up, but I don’t see him getting any better, unless maybe if he somehow take over the forge master role or he gets turn into a vampire, but I still think he would be dull.

Whether or not Tera actually meant for him to stop Maria is another story. Perhaps she wanted Juste there as insurance in case something went wrong (i.e. Maria couldn't defeat the night creatures or couldn't control her summons)? Or maybe she truly meant for Juste to stop Maria, but now that she sees the Abbott is dead, she's glad he failed. I think it's hard to say for certain because Tera is hard to read and seems a bit conflicted.
