Succession 2x9

Logan about to do something dramatic

Comments

That scene between Shiv and the victim Kira was so good and such a great display of power dynamics. Shiv's expensive outfit and haircut going to this park to meet this woman and pretend she's on her side and looking out for her. That was such a tough moment.

Briana J

Tom might have been able to fix the Greg answer by saying "Hersch? I thought his last name was Roy"

CentipedeKid

I know this is random but I just remembered that the girl that plays Willa was also in s1 of snowfall

Futuristic Girl

At yall wondering how they got access to Tom’s emails… Its Congress. They have subpoena power during investigations. All that shit becomes on the table once they ask for a hearing unless it violates constitutional rights.

Mack

38:40 When the edible kicks in and you are trying not to act normal

CentipedeKid

Damn took yall sometime to find out but the moment Shiv knew she won was when she was in the car with Rhea when she chickened out last min to talk to the victim Shiv basically told her " You not built like that b"

sotonye ogan

i’m so glad yall were in TEARS the same way I was at Karl’s panic attack scene—dude’s line delivery was some of the funniest shit i’ve ever heard 😭🤣

❥ rina

38:42 Bro I'm in tears 😭🤣

You know...I know exactly what show and family we're watching. But as a person? I hate that this entire episode is about damage control for a case about the abuse, sexual exploitation, and death of multiple people and we're supposed to care more about the ones trying to cover it up.

Bria A.

Legal mandate. That's the kind of shit it is. Lol. Warrants and subpeonas aren't so much asking for permission as they are covering the other party's ass, because on the flip side it's unlawful for *them* to take those actions without proper documentation.

Bria A.

I don't think there was any legal underhandedness necessarily going on with the emails, I just think they...subpoenaed Tom's work emails, lmao. He had to meet with lawyers or investigators in that one episode, and it would be weirder and more damning if Waystar *didn't* cooperate with authorities.

Bria A.

haven’t heard that laugh since warrior lol

Alan

I done told 4 people to "Fuck OFF" this week after watching this show, Damm Logan habits😁🤣

HBK 713 🏄🏾‍♂️

to be fair from what we've seen, his grampa is an asshat, he has 250 million and greg was struggling to even keep a job, the roys gave greg a job, an apartment fully bought, and stuff, what he did with tom was his choice for not having a backbone, but had he not done that greg would've still come out fairly alright, wouldnt be 250 million alright but alright

Amyr

often prosecution can offer immunity on future charges. and signing an NDA doesnt stop you from reporting illegal activity to the authorities.

PolarToni

Greg should've fucking left the Roys. I love him, but that made me see that the Roy vampirism is slowly turning him into one of them.

Delinda Arts

When congress subpoenas you, you have no say in what they’re allowed to look at. They get a warrant & go directly to the source meaning google, yahoo, apple, & phone companies, to get your records. If I’m not mistaken all texts are saved up to 5 years by the provider after they’ve been sent even after deleted. All you need is a warrant & they send transcripts.

CocainCowboy

Well that escalated quickly.

Samke Dladla

yes

Ed

Shout-out to David Rasche who plays Karl. Dude is an underrated gem in this show.

Carlos

Love and appreciate your content Roshi but if u do this dumb ahh shit again i will pay men to break ur legs

Ayanda Mpofu

That's always been bs to me. Like a search warrant. You expect me to help you build a case against myself what kind of shit is that?

CentipedeKid

If I'm Greg I'd be pissed getting kicked out that room. He chose the Roy's and they fucked him at every angle. Someone's getting hit if I turned down a quarter of a bill to get thrown under the bus. They are lucky he's a gentle giant. Cause at 6'8 bro can crash out and do some damage.

CentipedeKid

My friend streams and ends every stream with toodle pip. I hate that shit so much. Who tf says that shit?

CentipedeKid

MBS?

DTGstl314

I think it’s fair to say that while her motivations weren’t altruistic she did lay out the truth of what would happen. And considering how often she overplays her hand in conversations it was smart of her to say “no you can’t fully trust me I’m working in my own self interest but this is how it is.”

jerry

As much as Kendall and Shiv can be huge dumbasses they both delivered for the firm in this one. Evil little snakes who I would absolutely hate in real life but compelling to see these moments where they flash some real killer potential amongst their many fuck-ups.

jerry

need the next ep asap I cannot wait until Thursday next week omg

halsa

on the post-discussion—if the victim cuts a deal with Waystar they can make her sign an NDA that heavily restricts her from attempting to whistleblow again

janelle

facts

naa

COOK 🔥🔥🔥

naa

more fun facts! the turkish hostage situation is inspired by real events—in 2017 in saudi arabia, when the crown prince detained a bunch of businessmen and royals in the Ritz as a “crackdown on corruption” (power play) and extorted them in order to be released

janelle

I want one of them to spit a freestyle to these transitional beats !!! I don’t care who of the three at least 4 bars

Louis

still waiting on dr stone

StarFuture

Haven't seen Lupa laugh that much in a while lol

Co

W 'NOOOOOO' scream from Logan, I replayed that like 3 times and Karl's panic man 😭 This episode was a stressful mess.

Nita - Kento's Widow

How much do you think Kira was offered to withdraw from testifying to Congress? Shiv straight up said the company would be willing to bribe her to not speak... we looking at $10 milly here to buy her silence?

DTGstl314

She’s being real but her and her family are the reason shit like that happens. Logan tried to destroy his own son’s public perception due to a perceived personal slight.

Aaron Posey

Connor has no direct connection to the company aside from being the eldest son of the founder, so he wouldn't work as a sacrifice. It has to be someone on the inside, very high up, which limits it to a very small handful of people. Can't wait 'til the season finale next week.

DTGstl314

Wait. Have none of them heard of a subpoena? They are legally obligated to hand over any information necessary for the state to build its case.

Aaron Posey

31:00 A subpoena Lupa LOL.

Aaron Posey

yasss shiv, girl boss that felony witness tampering!

Ron H

it’s top 3 funniest lines in the show

Ron H

Next ep is one of the best episodes of TV I’ve seen. Shit was so good it got me waiting to watch season 3 with yall

Matt

Give my dude Greg a W please

Reckless Company

Re: emails. It's likely that Tom's emails and other communications were subpoenaed (i.e., the company was legally compelled to produce them for the hearing). So not a leak - Tom should have been prepared to answer questions knowing they had visibility into the emails

rajave

its kinda crazy that I still see people to this day defending what shiv did....victims are already suffering should they just never come out with their story and demand justice because people are gonna be cruel you can't stop people from treating u the way they're gonna treat u saying "oh well u shouldn't come forward ur life will be ripped to shreds" is bullshit and it allows evil people like that to get away with shit and continue..scaring victims into being quiet is nasty work cuz at the end of the day these fucking billionaires do not care about ur well being and will continue to let stuff like that happen to you if it means they get to keep their money

angel

Sheera that was not the sound of a camera💀

xProKnockz

Definitely. At the beginning of the show, I was so surprised by just how real everybody felt. I feel like you can see any type of these characters in my family right now. It just shows much your parenting and social class can really fuck you up. It happens on both sides, whether you're rich or not. But at the end of the day, wealthy people still have the luxury of having poor people to exploit. In that sense, I can't feel sorry for them since they have all the resources in the world to get better. And they all know how they grew up was fucked up, but who's willingly going to say no to an eternally comfortable lifestyle? Even Greg, who was literally the type of person they wouldn't even blink at, at the taste of some money couldn't leave it. He literally had a quarter billion in the bag, but he gave it up to keep gambling with his life because he wanted a lifestyle just like the Roys. And part of this is Logan's fault for being a shitty father, and their mother's fault for being virtually absent. But at some point, you as an adult have to realize that the cycle has to be broken somewhere. At what point do you sit down and realize that what you're doing is just as fucked up as what happened/is happening to you.

The 3 kids did good

Alex

It's like The Sopranos to me, you're watching a bit of a think piece on how these environments breed psychos. The shows break these people down on a psychological level; we can't recognize or relate to them as normal people, but there are still moments we can identify with, like the parental abuse. I don't feel bad for them, but it's super interesting how they all came down this road. Like you said, if they had morals and a conscience, they wouldn't have made it this far. It highlights that our systems inherently favor those who will do the worst, whether thats organized crime on the street or corporate crime from the 70th floor of an office building.

John Cedar

That last sentence is really a bar, word for word. Maybe you could build up ethically, but maintaining that kind of empire ethically is next to impossible. The real ones sell their shares & dip out of disgust

Offw0rlder

that final scene of logan and rhea is so good

anna

I agree. It's so messed up. Really shows how predatory the ultra-wealthy are.

Dimple Trauma

Incoming yap session. I apologize in advance. At the end of the day, I can't feel sorry for any of these niggas. They all knew about the Diddy activities and actively decided to ignore and deny it to save face. They're all pieces of shit, Tom and Greg included. Greg was just whining about not liking the conservative and racist vibes of the company, but he willingly destroyed the documents. He even knew were bad enough to keep for blackmail. Notice how all he cares about is the fact that he's missing out on his inheritance. Shiv went to an SA victim and convinced her not to testify just to save the company. I'm not a law expert but since this technically isn't an actual court case, I don't think witness tampering is a thing quite yet. It would just look bad on them if it came out that Shiv talked to her. But quite frankly she doesn't give a shit about her. If that lady never tried to testify, Shiv would not have even given her her time of day. Even if her advice is right, it's not coming from a place of actual concern. Shiv might hate the men in the company, but this SA case is neither here nor there for her. It's just a tool for her to get what she wants. All of them were sitting in that room, watching all the allegations, and playing victim. They knew the type of guy Mo was, had they been proactive and cut him off, it would have never amounted to this. But they only care about money. That's the reality of managing a multi-billion dollar company. There is no ethical way of earning and maintaining billions of dollars.

Dimple Trauma

Karl’s panic attack line killed me the first time I watched 😂

Elle B.

it was fucked up she didn't lie though

Futuristic Girl

next ep..whew

Futuristic Girl

Karl one of the funniest characters in the show frfr

Ricky Pereira

shiv was being real in that conversation. victims who come forward get their life ripped to shreds. it's not easy to carry that burden.

Futuristic Girl

that actually is considered witness tampering

Futuristic Girl

I swear one of the great things about this show is truly how funny it can be without even trying 😂

Nick Vaughn

Ken the cook

Tsuki

Like I remember having a visceral reaction to that when I first watched it. I felt sick.

naa

Shiv using her position as a woman to go coerce a victim of SA to not testify against the company that abused her is so evil.

naa

Can’t wait for finale holy shit 🔥🔥🔥

graves

you cant make tomlettes without breaking some greggs - been stuck on that for years now

B23

Lollll Lupa crying and sweating over Karl having a panic attack

Thomas Veldman
