CE=AD, AD means anno domini (year of our lord) when the world of academics leaned away from a religious based system they changed BC (before christ) to BCE (before common era) and AD (anno domini "year of our lord") to CE (common era). It's dumb though, because the whole system is still based around Jesus.

Logically, since vampires bleed just like anyone else, they gotta have blood pressure, which has got to come from something that pumps the blood. That could just be magic, or a working heart could make sense, since that's a universal vampire weak point. I think I remember Dracula threatening an underling with "ripping out his still beating heart" so that might be confirmation they do have a heartbeat, idk.

They can reproduce with humans, which you would think wouldn't be possible if undead. I think its more of an affliction rather than a death and rebirth. They are still human, but not quite human at the same time. Its not like Buffy vampire where they lose their souls or inhabited by demons, or are actually dead.
