Sheera's response made it sound like they think Haryu DID say something and Karen is just hiding it from both Chinatsu and Taiki, instead of it being Chinatsu the one gassing Taiki up and Karen hiding it from him.

When Taiki asked what Haryu was saying about him, Karen looked at Chinatsu because it was actually her that was telling Karen about Taiki (which also explains the look on both the girl's faces). So instead of blowing Chinatsu's cover, Karen made up a lie. Yalls interpretation also made sense though and it was cool seeing it from that angle too
