As Logan said in the first episode, he reads all the business books and has ideas but he cannot seem to grasp how things work with the sharks. That's not entirely Kendall's fault though. His dad should have helped him and all of the kids more but they have such low self-esteem. I don't think Logan would have really sold Kendall out but he knows Kendall was rattled by it and used it to his advantage. Similar to the vote of no confidence episode, that just fell into Logan's lap and he made it work.

Plus all of these characters are so loaded that there are no real stakes. Logan losing just means dude gets an insane payout. NONE OF THAT was about love. he said “you’re my number one boy” bc he knows that’s what all his kids want to be/hear. logan saw kendall was at his absolute lowest and said the one thing he’s always wanted to hear from his dad it was one big manipulation to get him back on his side. logan would never take the time to comfort ANYONE EVER not even his kids unless it was a play. like he immediately shooed him away when kendall started crying it wasn’t real. logan is an evil son of a bitch
