technically speaking, mari could have been brain damaged considering her symptoms. not a big health guy, but i know that if your eyes dont constrict or your muscles dont react to certain pressure applied to them, it could indicate brain damage. considering she inhaled a lot of smoke, her brain must have not enough oxygen and starting to cause permanent damage which could result in death, but as long as she wasn't 100% dead, inuyashiki could and eventually did heal her.
