I think you guys are confused on the killer thing. It was already confirmed in season 1 that the person who actually stabbed Ai was a psycho fan but Aqua suspects that the father leaked their location because they recently moved and no one else knew where they lived. Aqua's theory is that the father manipulated Ai's killer into murdering her and gave him their location to kill her for whatever reason

Yeah! It's quite an obvious red herring, as roshi says it's too early in the story. But i've always liked this reveal due to how it serves an alternative purpose of breaking down Aqua's cold and callous persona. To the point where he obliviously takes the first out he can get in order to stop his pursuit of revenge that has quite evidently caused him extreme mental anguish.

I think Sheera is forgetting some details about the killer. So let me just recap. The killer, a stalker who was in love with Ai and got made when he "found out" she had kids. This man comitted suicide after the murder. The problem that Aqua had is that this man couldn't have known where they lived, so he must have had help. And we know that Ai called the real father and told him where she lived. So as a viewer at least, we're pretty confident the father told the stalker where she lived. Aqua also thought this. I'm with roshi in the fact i don't believe this man is dead, I'm gonna guess that the double suicide actor isn't Himekawas real dad but he thinks he is
