Well, while Ryoko Kui (the mangaka of Delicious in Dungeon) didn't confirm Laios as autistic, it's not like she said people shouldn't interpret him that way. Refering to a certain argument, she acknowledged some people might see Laios as a little bit autistic, but she just wrote him as a pretty normal and not special guy and that's why he's likely to be relatable to a lot of people. Later on in that interview she also said she liked leaving things up to fan's interpretation/imagination.

Yeah they did, but the author's intent doesn't invalidate the audiences perception and analysis of a character. There's credence to Laois being autistic and it isn't like some where some small trait is extrapolated and shares no relevance to the overall narrative. I know of people who are relatively autistic and I haven't seen an anime portray it as accurately as this show has done. That's all to say that while it's not "cannon" it is understandable why people have perceived Laois as an autistic character.

They'll explore it more as it goes on, but a consistent theme here is that death has kind of lost all meaning for these dungeon adventurers. Because resurrection magic exists, death has just become this normal part of doing business that they don't really respect anymore. So they're more upset about the people taking their food because that actually causes them problems that they can't easily solve.

I believe the reason why Kabru group keeps getting bodied so much is mainly because Kabru doesn’t know how to fully kill monsters and what there weak points are. Kabru said to his group that killing humans, dwarves, halflings, and gnomes are easy for him cuz he can pinpoint there weak points and has incredible skill at analyzing people thoughts and motivates. Laios on the other is autistic and can’t read the room, but has extraordinary knowledge of monsters and how to easily kill them. So it’s kind of unfair to think lesser of Kabru’s group and believe they’re stupid and ignorant when they’re not all the time. Since both party’s have amazing skills they still have some flaws they need to overcome.

Basically, Kabru is better at understanding people or “humanoid” beings, but trash at understanding monsters. That’s why they keep getting clapped by monsters in the dungeon, but he was able to give those guys the wombo combo like it was nothing. He understands the way people think and act and fight more than he does about monsters.

Many reactors didn't understand it, but Kabru is the literal opposite of Laïos : Laïos is a walking encyclopedia of knowledge about monsters and animals and doesn't care about other human beings while Kabru is a walking notebook about other human beings and he doesn't know how to deal with monsters. Furthermore Kabru is an expert at killing people because he knows the human anatomy so well but he doesn't know where he's supposed to strike when fighting monsters (He only strikes to kill). That's why his party got killed so often. And about Laïos : If you remember, when Laïos found their corpses floating on the water, he didn't recognize any of them, he only recognized the dog. That's how autistic Laïos is around people. Some fans even speculate that he might actually be a literal autist in the clinical sense of the term. Also, when building Fallin's skeleton, Laïos was very knowledgeable about Wargs' bones but made mistakes about the human anatomy, to show you that he is always more knowledgeable about animals and monsters than humans. That is why fans love Dungeon Meshi, because everything always go full circle in its World-building, and the author has an insane attention to details.

I think it’s because he thought Laios’s past actions showed that he didn’t really take too much care in the regards of others. Like he didn’t bother to check and see if the people he was giving money to were fully healed yet. So he thinks that if someone indifferent like that becomes the one in charge, it would end up bad for everyone else.

Kabru isn't really accusing them of anything. Notice how when they mention laios n gang he refers to them as "the party who put the ghost warding charm on us" but it's the people in his party who chime in with "you mean the treasure thieves?" There's some subtle stuff like that all throughout the episode that shows how he doesn't actually care whether they robbed him or not but it's his party who do.

Kabru and his gang aren't weak, though it is funny they've wiped twice ( almost a 3rd time this ep lol ) due to their ignorance of the hostile environment. The only reason the Laios gang seems better is strictly plot demanding their success via Kensuke ( in the sword ) acting up and Laios' extensive monster knowledge. all of the Laios gang except Senshi have said they've died multiple times in the past in the dungeon. Chilchuck has died to Mimics with the Frieren mindset whenever he saw an idle chest. The ecosystem is just op.

And y'all straight up forgot: Chillchuck said he's pushin' on 29 ( which equates to being 50 human years because half-foots have a short lifespan) , Marcille is in her 40s ( which is young for an elf ), Senshi is around 130 years and Laios is a regular 26 guy, making him the "kid" of the group.

Tade (girl with horns) is an oni/ogre! shes also a teenager (17). She is only big because of her race. Kabru is super interesting as a character, and I can't wait for more of him in the 2nd season. I am excited for future arcs involving him!! I feel like this episode especially kinda picks up the pace a little bit more for DM. I never had an issue with the pacing, but going into character motivations is always fun to watch, and Kabru is the most enjoyable. Like someone else said, he's very much the foil to Laios. Laios being a somewhat socially stunted and obsessed with monsters, while Kabru is fairly good socially (to the point of being a local hearthrob) and really obsessed with humans and their flaws.

Where Laois is very knowledgeable about monsters and doesn't understand humans well, Kabru is extremely interested in and knowledgeable about humans and their habits and motivations but he doesn't know much about monsters other than that they need to be killed.

Kabru makes a lot more sense as a character once you see him as a parallel to Laios. With the only difference between their strange obsessions being their focus. Kabru focuses on humanoids whereas Laois focuses on monsters. Interstinly this obsession is what is stopping Kabru's party from making any real progress. Even when faced with a monster his mind still went to the "carotid artery" A weakness universally held by humanoids but not by monsters.

He's kinda the opposite of Laios. Kabru loses against all kinds of monsters, because he doesn't know how to deal with them. All he knows are people and how to efficiently influence and dispatch them. Meanwhile, Laios can't adequately interact with people, but has vast knowledge about all kinds of creatures, allowing his party to progress much further in the dungeon than Kabru can.

Strength is not necessarily linear. A dragon slayer might still lose to an assassin even if the assassin can't slay a dragon. Kabaru is a people person. He is really good at reading people and dispatching them. Monsters? Not so much. Personally, I think everyone except for Shuro would lose in a fight against Kabaru.
