My only complaint about this show is that Alicent believed that her dying, sick and barely conscious husband was talking about her son Aegons taking over the throne, when there are several Aegons in the Targaryen line at that point and time and time again, the king defended and restated he wanted his daughter to succeed him. But, now it's at the point where this has gotten so bad that how it started doesn't matter anymore. Great episode

Just an idea how long hatched dragons live, In season 1, when Viserys was walking with little Laena, she really wanted to talk about dragons and Vhagar specifically. Viserys told her Vhagar was the last living thing who saw Aegon the conquerer. That should have been about 130 years before this season. Anyway, I just realised that Laena got to ride the dragon she was obsessed with as a kid. His for her. I wonder if the call back to Seasmoke means Laenor might be coming back some time in the future. And a side note: I just find it funny that Rhaenyra's husband chose the "selling oranges" route lol.

It would makes sense for Aegon to make rash and impulsive choices for a young father to lose a son who was very young and surrounded by those that only want to control him where he's trying to break out of it and see who can he truly trust or does he need to make his own decisions for now which is the stage he's at right now. After this episode i had an interesting thought, Aegon isn't respected he is to much "fire" and and Rhaenyra is so "Icey" one is too headstrong and the other is too passive if only one was the ruler and the other was the hand to deal with the other worse inpluses. They can take a while to hatch especially if they aren't bonded to a person. When they are bonded they seem to grow faster. Like sunfyre for example hatched no to long after being with Aegon in his crib but it's hard to say how long it took before that. Dany's dragons are said to be the offspring of dreamfyre and if that's so it could take 100+ years before a dragon naturally hatches.

You make a valid argument but he should have considered the implications of naming his first born son Aegon. From the beginning everyone was looking at him like he was going to be king. It's a bad look for Rhaenyra and made Otto's claims that Rhaenyra would try and kill him to strengthen as to not to have a challenge seem more valid. It's just like Alicent told him when he was younger he is the challenge. Just by being alive and breathing. Visery's messed up he was the catalyst to this war because he thinks with his heart instead of his mind. He did this. He decided to marry Alicent. He decided to sire more children. He decided to only love and give attention to Rhaenyra. He decided no one could acknowledge Rhaenyra's kids as bastards which btw would have actually been fine if he didn't try and hide it. He could have publicly legitimatized them but didn't. If he did they'd have nothing to be mad about when Aemond called them out on it and they wouldn't have cut out his eye. He also should have actually done something about Luke wrongfully cutting out his uncle's eye. At the end of the day Aemond is the second prince and his son. Then maybe he wouldn't harbor so much resentment for the boy. The point I'm trying to make is a lot of the issues that happen are a result of his incompetence. Which can only be blamed on his illness so much. It's crazy to me that he went down as Visery's the Peaceful when he should be Visery's the incompetent. The state of westeros in his rule was a testament to Otto as hand. He brought westeros the point it was at and the kingdom is all the worse because Visery's is credited with everything.

I don't know how long eggs typically take to hatch, but if you are asking this because of the eggs that were sent off, those eggs wouldn't have hatched at all. They were considered to be dead when they were given to Daenerys. Basically just pretty looking stones. But she managed to revive and hatch them through happenstance and magic.

They make a point of telling us through the conversation in the bar with the supposed Targaryen bastard character that the common people have no idea what the royalty look like except their white hair. That also extends to the gold cloaks who never enter the red keep, those people are used to looking at peasants dragging carts all day, they don't attend royal court. The scorpions can definitely kill the largest dragons. In Aegon's conquest, one of his sister-wives lost her dragon (that was said to be bigger than Vhagar) to a scorpion. It died to an eye shot, which is incredibly lucky, sure, but they never state that only an eye shot is a kill. So yeah, none of the dragons are safe from a really well placed shot, they can absolutely be killed.

Those weapons only work on the smaller dragons, the big ones skin is too tough but then again most of the dragons they have are young and would be killed.
