But Hank is always looking for something to prove in the life of crime even though, like he said in s2, he gives off flight attendant/hotel manager energy. Hank is an interesting character and a lot more sympathetic than Barry a lot of the time, but he does the same rationalization of his situation like Barry does to justify horrible actions. Imo, Hank "needed" to do this like Barry "needed" to kill Chris. What was actually in danger was the possibility of changing the status quo of their lives, which is what they both can't stand to have happen.

Like if Cristobal had been against it and went behind Hank's back to tip off the other people, then the same thing happens and hank and Cristobal are both dead. Again it was definitely the right thing to do to tell him, but I also completely understand why he didn't. In that situation, back against the wall, you want to leave as little room for surprises as possible.
