2023-09-04 07:51:35 +0000 UTCThe only part I didn't like was that they made Senior Attorney Jang way too incompetent, like I woulda understood him being piece of crap to the "Rookies" if he was actually a super-elite lawyer that gets things done by himself for the most part and thats why he wants his "team" to just do what they are told... but that dude was super incompetent while yelling at Woo and stuff... like bro you suck as a lawyer and these Rookies are already so much better than you at the job. I think Senior Attorney Jung was amazing though, a great mentor that made our "Rookies" reach their potential really quick, he was easily one of my top fav characters of this show. The wholesomeness, the comedy, and the wide variety of cases were all super well done. My fav episode was probably the one about the toll booth on the road for the Buddhist temple, it was a super calming and almost therapeutic episode exploring that case.

2023-08-22 23:39:08 +0000 UTC1:15:24 those are the end parts of the gimpab lol how it's made is that after you lay out the rice on top of the seaweed, you lay out the ingredients prepared in long strips and you roll them together. in order to ensure that it all rolls together in a tight fit, the ingredients are longer than the seaweed which makes them poke out the ends. so that's why it looks like that after you cut them up. a lot of people consider it the best parts of the gimbap

2023-08-21 21:34:33 +0000 UTCI just thought I’d mention this since for a show that’s meant to clear misconceptions about the disorder, it sometimes falls flat and reinforces them. Misconceptions that cause cases like the sexual assault episode to happen irl. The culprit thought he was fine, because he wasn’t forcing himself on a disabled girl, he could text back and fourth with her, she would flirt with him. But he was not mature enough to deny him of sex, because she would do anything to please him. No different then statutory on a non autistic teen. I wish the show did more represent the nuances. Wether it’s your cousin who doesn’t speak is sensitive to loud noise and flaps their arms, or a classmate who can only speak in monotone, is infatuated with trains, and doesn’t get jokes. They are all autistic. Not just a victim, not just a genius, just out there chilling. But then again Woo is an attorney so when would they come into play lol.

And no two people’s autism habits are exactly the same, but I do get the vibe that her little brother is coded to be somewhere in the realm of undiagnosed autism or ADHD even without the counting transition or echolalia bc on top of the special interests he also isn’t great at making eye contact if you pay attention to when he’s onscreen.

In the case of Woo and her brother just because someone doesn’t have the tendencies that are seen in others, or has better social cues and cadence doesn’t mean they aren’t autistic. I think it’s because the show always frames Woo as the “genius but socially inept autistic protecting the rights of the vulnerable, “mentally young”, non-verbal Autistic”. It pushes that “Low and high functioning” misconception. It makes a linear list, and places Woo at the top people in need for accommodation at the bottom, and then cuts out thousands because they can “appear normal at first glance”. It more like tons of connected ven diagrams.

Weak Hero is probably the best k show for reaction. I can't think of other good shows even though I pretty much watched all kdramas. Maybe D.P. 1 is good, but I didn't watch the season 2 yet.

In the other show, he is evil villain that murders and manipulates. If you do another kdrama soon, I would recommend Taxi Driver, Uncanny Counter, Flower Of Evil, Signal, The Devil Judge, or W: Two Worlds.

I know taxi driver is probably the next kdrama you'll watch, but I highly recommend this new korean show on netflix called mask girl! It's only 7 eps long and it blew me away... don't want to give away too much but it's VERY dark and tackles a lot of interesting issues (plus miss kang from the glory plays her best role yet in this show!)
