@Jeremiah - Just to be clear, I'm not saying the flashbacks are unimportant. My issue is that a Bungo season only gets 10 - 13 episodes, so every episode counts. The light novel flashbacks have literally siphoned away runtime from the present day story (at least during S2 + S3). Each flashback has SOME relevance to the season it was in (excluding the S3 story with Chuya), but honestly, you could skip them and still understand what's going on. The S2 flashback introduced important lore + characters, but most of that wasn't important for the S2 arc. The S4 flashback briefly foreshadows events to come, but it wasn't otherwise relevant to the S4 storyline. And, again, the S3 flashback had nothing to do with that season's storyline. Character development is important, don't get me wrong, but if we need to sacrifice manga content and pacing in order to make room for the light novels, I want the anime to prioritize the manga instead. I'd actually prefer a full season just for flashbacks, or some flashback OVAs, or another light novel movie. Or, better yet, longer seasons. I'm sure they could fit both light novel + manga if the season had more episodes.

This season about to be fireeee Also just to clarify(you guys may have caught it but just making sure). Early on you said “that’s why Kunikida would need routine surgery”. And it’s not that he’d need it cuz of his nubs it’s because if he became a bloodhound all bloodhounds need routine surgery or else their bodies will fall apart. One of the drawbacks of their super human abilities.

Nope, not a flashback. For the first time since S1, a new season of Bungo gets straight to the story. I don't dislike the flashbacks, but I feel they take away from the episode count. I'd prefer flashback movies tbh.
