TWAB: The First Steps

It has been a fairly uneventful week.

Although I like my lower workload, I wish I'd start working on artwork earlier in the week so I can develop its idea over several days. I'm so accustomed to working to shove out content immediately, so I need to retrain myself.

I should try to get back to game development work in the upcoming week. I started writing an outline of everything that needs to be done for the engine to be finished - although the list may be incomplete... Might need to think / research further.

Writing stories for Elayne Beaumont is often difficult - likely partially due to a lack of practice. "Beaumont" isn't really a series about things happening, but instead about exploring ideas & emotion. It's very self-serving, making it difficult to tell interesting stories for other people.

Unrelated:

I have begun to speak with a writer about a potential collaboration. The last time I worked with another writer was in 2021 on the Dragon Breast Prototype comic. We haven't decided on what we're doing yet, however.

Closing:

How's everyone feeling about the month so far? It has been a bit slower than usual, but I hope it doesn't feel lackluster. This is a chance to make your thoughts clear so that I can possibly improve the experience under the new framework.

How do you feel about the size of the cropped previews? I used to do them years ago, but they were taller; much less compact but you could see more of the image.

I plan to start catching up on those backed-up requests soon.

Don't forget to eat & sleep.

The emotions the Beaumont comics elicit is what makes them interesting. No shame in making it an episodic forever adventure without a clearly defined beginning or end, just events that happen and flesh out the world.

It's a good review, I'd say it's solid work. The cropped previews work as is to me.

This was a nice little update to read from you! You definitely have a lot on your plate, but it's always good to take a step back and refigure on your workload. Always make sure you're taking care of yourself first before trying to appease us! 😁🫶💞
