I'm experimenting with some new techniques - this time attempting to emulate the general vibes of an oil painting. I don't ordinarily show stuff like this, but I think stuff like this can be exciting. I'd like to step away from feeling like such a robot, and posts like this might help that.
I think one of the more interesting visual phenomena is the rough bits of "under painting" showing through - like the yellow/red bleeding out from under the blue of her torso. It's an unfinished look, but something about it feels really cool - little bits of "dry brush" providing interesting textures. One of the annoying problems will be details - like all those leaves in the flowers...
I don't know if I'll "finish" this proper, but I think that's okay as long as something interesting does come out of it - even if it's not some "product" that's "good enough" for public consumption.
