Introduction
Added 2017-03-24 14:23:01 +0000 UTCHello, my Name is Speiger,
I started modding Minecraft to learn programming and after some learning of the base language, I started a more serious Project with a Friend.
In Minecraft 1.4.7 we started making the two mods SpmodAPI and TinyChest (now known as TinyModularThings).
He taught me what to take care of and what's important in coding, while he took care of Textures.
After updating these Mods to 1.6.4 and testing them in my custom Modpack, I got really bugged by IndustrialCraft²-Experimental, which was one of my favorite Mods at that time.
While looking into IC2-Exp and talking to their Team, it turned out that they left the Mod half disassembled. I tried to make Addons to fix those issues, but it was no use.
Later I found IC2-Classic by immibis, and testing it I noticed it was close to the same results.
So after some talks I decided to make a copy, taking over IC2-Classic and trying to make it work like I wanted.
While looking into IC2-Exp and talking to their Team, it turned out that they left the Mod half disassembled.
I tried to make Addons to fix those issues, but it was no use.
Later I found IC2-Classic my immibis, and testing it I noticed it was close to the same results.
Since that was done I started porting over some old 1.4.7 IC2-Addons to 1.6.4 and making them both IC2-Classic and IC2-Exp compatible.
IC2C then had to be ported over to 1.7.10 and after some minor issues were solved, the first actual 1.7.10 release was done. We had a Mod that was working and playable.
Many good IC2-Addons never got updated, so I asked their Devs if I could integrate them into IC2C, and so I imported a lot of Addons, which felt like a good addition.
When 1.9 came to be, I got lots of requests for porting IC2C, including someone who wanted to take over my Project.
But even before I started porting, it was clear to me, that it required a complete rewrite, so the port turned to 1.9.4 and now 1.10.2.
Because I thought it was getting close to done after half a year of development, I did a closed beta with almost all content added (hahaha I thought so, at least).
It turned out to be a wise desion, because the Mod was not playable at all. Thanks to all active testers and about 90 Versions we have now a stable enough Mod with a lot of expansions.
But it is still not complete yet. There is still a lot of polishing needed.
A couple weeks ago my computer broke, but i was lucky enough and got it fixed, though it took a good chunk of my available resources.
Yet I also found out, that my computer is still so old that it won't even run newer Minecraft Versions, meaning I couldn't continue updating to it if I wanted to, and am stuck at 1.10.2.
Money was never my focus in modding and I never had the need to use Patreon, but now I have to gather some money to keep my hardware up to date, allowing me to continue putting my focus on IC2-Classic without having to do Side-Jobs.
My goal is to make my own Game. But this has to wait, since I still want to finish the IC2-Classic Project for 1.10.2.
