Even without the wind resistance and updrafts it will still not be lethal enough to injure someone. A bullet is shot by a gun, not dropped from a building.

The air density, projected area (the 2d area of a 3d object based on movement direction), and mass will affect what the top speed is. for a baseball it's about 74 mph. using linear momentum equations, force can be derived to be about 957 Newtons or 215 pounds of force. Since it takes roughly 1100 pounds to fracture a human skull, you probably wont die but it will sure hurt like hell. Using that 1100 lb force in the same linear momentum equation, a baseball would have to be travelling at 378 mph to break a skull which is basically impossible for humans to produce naturally. the show about alien parasites is unrealistic, might as well stop watching now
