86 EIGHTY-SIX - Episode 9
Added 2024-01-11 22:20:46 +0000 UTCWow! What an episode... and that ending though
Comments
this ending was so heartwrenchingly beautifully done T_T probably my favorite scene, even more so than all the excellently animated action scenes. I haven't noticed anyone mentioning it, and I don't htink I heard it mentioned during the commentary either. but Legion.Rei was actually the one that merked the legion drone that had snuck up on shin and almost successfully ambushed him . that's why shin made the comment about how Legion.Rei wanted to kill shin personally.

2024-02-21 03:44:10 +0000 UTClena saves them by doing everything she could, regardless of consequence, only to lose them (essentially they ended up dying anyways for her, albeit in a different way. spider lily symbolism). running to try to keep them within range just that bit longer, even though she knows it was useless...extraordinarily bittersweet T_T

2024-02-20 20:41:15 +0000 UTCRed spider lily in anime is used as a symbol of death, afterlife, tragedy, loss, abandonment and separation.

2024-01-12 14:33:59 +0000 UTCWhen the Brain is still working they use them as a sheperd (something like commander) like shins brother. Because of that shins brother is more aware of everything the most other machines are just "stupid" sheep. Shins Brother is still aware of his memories and kinda his old self but i think when they use the brain the people are not the same person anymore. Hope u understood what i tried to say :D

2024-01-12 11:45:37 +0000 UTCYup, our spearhead squadron has already come to terms and accepted the likelihood of their deaths, a long time ago probably. And Lena fights like hell to prevent that and dissuade them of that perception. ALL of this while only really knowing each other’s voices and that’s it. The relationship dynamics of this show are so powerful.

2024-01-12 07:56:13 +0000 UTCWell you guys never reacted to Spy x Family season 2. After this you would enjoy a lot Code Geass it's little bit older, but a big eternal classic anime. Another really amazing show you guys really should react to is Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation

Great reaction. Lena's character grows immensely and this episode is the turning point. You can already see it when she approaches Anette to seek her help. As for the blindness, she does mention that it doesn't set in immediately. So, I could be wrong but, I see that side effect like a consequence of over usage. A little bit like hurting yourself when you work too hard.

2024-01-12 01:15:00 +0000 UTCNow imagine you watch these last like 3-4 episodes in one session, the emotional connection you have to those and the whole mental adventure you are being taken on is just wow. You really begin feeling how they accepted their deaths and how Lena fights. Its just insane

2024-01-12 01:12:47 +0000 UTCFor such a small show the author and animators made it feel very grand. When I finished this episode I couldn’t believe that I’m not even halfway done. The show is deep and very emotional that the feelings I usually have when I’m finishing up a show are literally resurfacing when the show isn’t even close to being done. The author was cooking when he made this show.

2024-01-12 01:10:41 +0000 UTCShepherds (or however they are written), those with fully functional brains have their original consciousness, tho they are kind of like insane, they lose rational thinking and follow their deepest desire, but they do have their original thoughts and memories and so on.

2024-01-12 00:54:54 +0000 UTCShin's cry always gets to me......and Lena running to try and not lose connection even tho you know damn well it's a lost cause...but that's how desperate she was to stay connected 😭💔

2024-01-12 00:46:33 +0000 UTCThe OST playing during the scene when Lena starts running to not lose connection - "Shin", masterpiece. It kinda reminds me of Hans Zimmer's Interstellar Theme, somewhat similar vibe. This scene is perfect, one of the best in this anime. The soundtrack really conveys the feeling of them going separate ways, a goodbye, the distance between them grows as they leave the reach of PARA-RAID. It's also a sad scene, because Lena loses the REALLY CLOSE people she had. So in the end Lena remains alone :(
