It's honestly very good. I wouldn't have checked it out had another reaction channel I'm a patron to not checked it out when it was airing. The art style gives me Studio Ghibli vibes, the animation studio is Wit who did the phenomenal first 3 seasons of AoT. The story and characters are also well written, as they are not one note, with good emotional scenes. The mid season OP is also one of my faves in recent years.

I feel like a lot of both short and long running classics & all time greats are never in the poll whenever i vote. I genuinely love ranking of kings, but i can think of so many iconic & highly rated shows never in the discussion; Evangelion, Full metal alchemist, Berserk, Cowboy Bebop, samurai champloo, Parasyte, Monster, Code Geass, Violet evergarden etc etc etc. i know they're not in a rush, and ik taste is subjective, this was just a suggestion for a more democratic polling solution but if running two polls is too much of a hassle or not possible with a selection limit, i understand that aswell. No one here is entitled to have their favourites in the polls, and i personally have discovered two shows from here i enjoyed that i wouldn't have watched otherwise or taken a while to have gotten around to. so i suggest anyone complaing about ranking of kings winning stay open minded and give it a fair shake.

If you guys EVER decide to watch a donghua, then I'd recommend Mo Dao Zu Shi / The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation as it's in Japanese anime style, or the other two works by MXTX. Otherwise, I'd recommend Douluo Dalu / Soul Land, which is like 200+ episodes, completed, and one of THE BEST donghuas I've ever seen in the usual Chinese style. Finally, I'd recommend Link Click - I can't even explain how much of a MASTERPIECE it is, and can only advise you to at least watch the openings and endings of the two seasons it has so far if you want an idea about the art style and what it's like.

Totally disagree. Yes, you named great shows, but everyone forgets that recommendations are meant for them, not you. They are new to anime and would hate watching LotGH since it’s a slow space opera. Stein’s Gate is fantastic, but super heavy on anime tropes they aren’t familiar with yet. People really need to understand that it’s not about recommending the best shows, but recommending the best shows for them. Ron doesn’t like the slow romance-like shows, so I’m not gonna recommend Clannad, even though it’s considered one of the best shows. Also, they are a reaction channel, so whatever they watch, other people have to be interested/invested in too. Code Geasa and Steins Gate can easily rate at RoK and MiA levels. But to each their own taste. Just saying think about what THEY like when recommending stuff.

Dororo is a MASTERPIECE. It's honestly got such as a sad story, even if it seems like it's just a badass fighting-creepy-monsters anime. It's so cool, I hated having to wait for each episode, and not even soon after I finished it I went and rewatched it all in a binge because it was just so good. I even went onto YT and watched some AMVs which honestly made me cry too much lol. You won't regret watching it, and it tidies up nicely in one season, so I hope you go for it!

I see some people mentioning edgerunners, and not to put too much weight in awards but Made in Abyss also won Anime of the Year and Best Score for it's year. Regardless of the poll I hope you'll get to Made in Abyss some time soon. It's a great story in an interesting world with some amazing visuals and soundtrack, and I'll also just say that it really lends itself well to reaction content.

The only one I haven’t seen is Heavenly Delusion, which I hear was one of the best anime to drop in 2023, so I picked that one. From what I hear it probably would’ve gotten more hype if it was released on crunchyroll or Netflix (similar to the situation with Summer Time Rendering)
