its forbidden in anime to stop someone from powering up and thats why, eren is superior 🙏

bad team mates die and give gold to enemies so they're double agent enemies who make it harder for your to win by just being terrible, hence 1v9

To say more about the fight between Rimuru and the Orc Disaster, everything everyone has said about it is correct. The light novels describes the steps of the battle in this way: As mentioned previously the Kijin received the Skills they used on the Orc Lord/Disaster from Rimuru when they were named as those Skills they had the greatest affinity for. These were improved upon by the Kijin, and you can say they were better at using them than Rimuru himself. Even using the Skills simultaneously didn't kill the Orc Disaster. Then Rimuru used the most logical course of action calculated by Great Sage, which also didn't work. At that point Rimuru realized logic wasn't going to cut it. Only instinct would work, i.e., those Skills that grew from the inherent nature of a Slime. Slimes are Predators, and regenerate well. His only chance to win would be to use those abilities. It was a battle between Starved and Predator, and Predator had the edge.

myst0dreamer

The single biggest spoiler is in the first opening which shows Rimuru's human form. After that, it's mainly new characters, and you really can't put what you see in context.

myst0dreamer

It was a struggle because Rimuru and the Orc Lord are evenly matched. As such, his best chance is to convince the Orc Lord to give up.....I think there is a distinction between dropping his magicules to zero, and dropping his magicule reserves to zero. Great Sage helps Rimuru not to go to far into dangerous territory, and there are other factors. Also, the magicules Rimuru uses when he uses the black mist can come not only from within, but also from the surroundings.

myst0dreamer

this is my favorite isekai, scenes like this, are so great to watch, and to feel the backstories of certain characters, i must say that at first i dont like rimuru´s human form, cause i felt like his/her voice make him/her a little annoying, but weird that as a slime i kinda like, haha but after seeing a couple of times a start to like him/her a bit more

Ricardo Fierro

rimuru also might not have used predator the way he did earlier because of how many magicules it uses. it never says how much that kind of use of the skill takes (at least in the anime, no idea what the manga might have said), but at the end when all the extra slime from the expanded body starts disappearing you see the black mist that shows up when he uses body double. they told us earlier the black mist when using body double is the magicules used to make up the difference between the size of the real body and the size of the body double. With how large he made his slime body here by the end it may have taken quite a bit of magicules and neither we nor Rimuru know exactly how strong he is as far as magicules since he just randomly drops himself to zero sometimes

What Gelmud did in the Jura forest by planting several potential demon lords kinda reminds me of how in Chinese folklore they used to trap a bunch of venomous creatures into a closed container, so that they could harvest the deadliest of poisons – Gu (蠱) – from the one single survivor

klairvoyance

Gelmud's VA is Kengo Kawanishi. He voiced Toru Kishiri from "Fire Force" and Muichiro Tokito from "Demon Slayer", amongst others.

The eating contest took 2 days by the way, and Predator doesn't work on everything, think of it as a level-ball from pokemon, It works great on opponents that is weaker than you, and it has a normal catch rate when you use it on an opponent of similar level, and the catch rate for opponents stronger than you gets lower and lower. Hope this helps!

AB PALMOLJA

Rimuru going for Predator on Geld, was a risky move. It wasn't a 100% win chance for Rimuru, but him being a slime had advantage over a being like Orc for this kind of battle. Rimuru wanted to see how Sage would fight and there was chance for just using spells to win it. I would argue Rimuru could have used that blue flame to kill Geld too if he had gone fully using it as that stopped the regeneration ability.

Thamor

No, it isn't.

This is the episode to say this When someone gets a skill, evolves or gets named they are basically recognized by the world. This results in a sort of announcement. Sometimes directly to the mind or as a public announcement in an area where it occurred. -This is called "Words of the World" or "World Language" Its what we hear we Rimuru got stabbed and gained Great Sage-Predator and Resistances and stuff and when monsters or majin get stuff like skills, names, etc -Later Great Sage used the voice used by World Language and used it to communicate with Rimuru, so they sound the same pretty much and the VA is the same. (Later on sage gets better at communicating and starts showing little expressions) So just to be aware they are different but have the same voice for future episodes

matias

also, rip geld man, he was just a great king trying his best for his people

matias

lets put it like this, with the amount of HP Geld still had it was dangerous to open up with predator I mean you are literally going there to hug your opponent, Rimuru might have ultraspeed regen now but he still takes damage Also geld has the starved skill to consume along with "Rot" thats really dangerous if it touches you. We see bits of Rimuru getting rotted with some green smoke effects So basically it was really a speed race of who eats first and he ended up winning partially thanks to rimuru convincing Geld

matias

Let me use small words for you to understand why he didn't open up with predator. When you play LoL do you pop your Ultimate right away as soon as you see an enemy? 🤣 🤣

Grim

wow lord gelmund VA isBakugo?, nishinoya?

Ron Jackson Jr

he didnt open with predator cause then the episode will be over from the start

mitsui

I don't understand why you wouldn't watch the intros/outros as they come? They are there for a reason lmao

Chamiunt

i think this was the episode when i was like, well dang this show's pretty good! also, i'm sure you've noticed by now that the sound effects go crazy like what

Killua X

Yeah, you guys are right, that’s my bad. My point was that Rimuru can’t immediately one-shot everything through the Predator skill if the enemy is strong enough, but that was a poor example.

Michael H

+1 the anime actually is a bit confusing when you go straight from S1 to S2 since they rearranged some events from the light novel

klairvoyage

It's really not

klairvoyage

I dont understand not watching intros because you think its spoilers but youre okay with watching trailers. Its literally the same thing

GD LoreRiley

lets go for one ep every day xD

MrMarshmallow..

There's a lot of bad Isekai out there. Slime is one of the good ones. Glad your liking it

Anthony Cano

At least the orcs are not under the constant hunger of the unique skill Starved anymore. Gorgeous scened this episode, and as always, great music. Gotta love a good episode and good reaction, all in one.

Rimuru Tempest

Agree with what you said, but I don't think Veldora could have done anything against Rimuru eating the prison. Also, technically, Rimuru didn't "eat" the prison and only took it into his stomach. The difference is he takes on the powers of anything he "eats" by analysing it completely but he can't analyse the inside of the Veldora's prison so he only took it into his stomach for storage and slowly analyze it (they said it might take 100 years) :p

Prateek Sridhar

besti :)

Animeter

Veldora was imprisoned and all of his abilities were sealed. So Rimuru basically ate the prison

Animeter

Guys once you're finished on season 1, considered watching the ovas before season 2, some aren't canon but give context, present certain characters we'll see after, and if you're planning on watching the movie, do so after season 2

Divine Simp

I love slime RIP Orc Lord he was just looking out for his people

TEMPEST

The reason Rimuru didn’t just immediately body the Orc Lord and devour him is because they were actually pretty evenly matched in power. It’s been a while since I read the novels, but I think it’s stated/implied that Rimuru was only able to devour him after talking him down by saying he’d take on the sins of his people. As OP as it is, there’s definitely a limit to Rimuru’s Predator skill. The only reason he was able to consume Veldora, for instance, was because Veldora allowed it to happen.

Michael H

Tony Wallace

So with the intros and outros, they don't really show scenes that happen, but do show some characters that haven't yet been introduced. So for the sake of being spoiler free probably best to just avoid them. They are pretty cool openings and outros so maybe at the end of the season can watch the whole thing.

Ahupnatun

Oh yeah! Slime time!
