Death Note - Ep 27

Things are getting interesting with Mello and Near! Hope you enjoy our discussion at the end!

Comments

Pretty sure L had enough money to start his own small nation

Tatsu Riveraeon

19:52 I think that was a mistake to kill the director

Abdul-Rahman Lawal

So cool watching you two exchange thoughts on Sayu kidnapped. Most definetely Ron lost this debate this time round lol

Healthy Truth

33:30 Well, now we know if genocide ever occurs globally that Ron is a prime suspect, bro is an absolute psychopath lol. No wonder he doesn't like Vinland as much, it preaches the one thing he's not a fan of: "Peace" 💀

Stix

I actually really like Near and Mello. They're obviously not as interesting or exciting as L, but the pair of them kind of represent the two halves of L that were always battling - L's emotions telling him that Light was Kira while all the objective evidence proved he wasn't. Seeing L effectively split into two people as his proteges is an interesting way of continuing to explore his character after his death. I know everyone loves to hate on the final arc of the show but I really still love it, even if it's got nothing on the first arc.

Gandheezy

I also forgot to mention Watari's real name is Quillsh Wammy as it said in the newspaper that they read right after L and Watari's death and the house where L came from was called Wammy's house, as well as Near and Mellow

Abel J Lopez

@Ron for your theory that L could have staged it with Rem, it wouldn’t be possible because all Rem cares about is Misas happiness, so helping L catch Kira is next to impossible imo

Overbyte

I have always thought of the ending scene as if Light fdels like the chains are still on him, connecting to L when he talked with N, showing that he is indeed his successor

Swat Sid

Anyone else just want them to binge the rest to see the end?!!! God I forgot how good this show is top 3 all time for me

Tandon English

L was British snd the institution is from Uk and all this happen around the world because kira killed bad people around the world the whole time

Ludwig Ivan Ortega Lopez

These episodes are really garbage compared to the first 15.

Arbulon Rexhepi

Based upon technicality Light didn't kill L. Rem killed L to protect Misa but Light knew she would.

ViperAlistar

Actually they both have similarities to L: near 's sitting position and look and mello eating sugar and braveness

kkloyd

Now we can say Rest in peace the goat L

Saith Uchiha

Haha Ron, no need to hide your support for Light. He has noble goals and I would like a world without crime too. I was team Light since episode 1. Sure his methods are cruel but thats whats needed for drastic changes

Hertog

Can't help but root for Light in this journey, totally understandable!

dmc 1219

L is from England, so Near and Mello (and Watari) are from England too And your discussion at the end was actually really fitting, because Near has Asperger's, and his way of organizing his thoughts and expressing his feelings better is by playing with toys or building things

RorotheShadow

So that last scene, I think it didn't portrayed Light missing L, I think it was more like he was realizing that he is still tied down by L, even after death. Or maybe it portrayed the fact that L still ended up having the upper hand against Light, even after death. That what I interpreted with that final scene visual of Light being surrounded by chains and L in the background. I can't wait till the next reaction, this show is so good!

LeNiarfe

agreee

Uchiha With Some Gas

“The only ones who should kill, are those who are prepared to be killed” “To defeat evil, I will become a greater evil” Quotes from Lelouch Your end debate made me think of how much of a great anime character Lelouch (from Code Geass) was. Out of the three crazy anti-heroes, Lelouch stomps on Light and Eren, IMHO 😁

KevUrb

I would've wanted Ron's idea about an episode of the missing years

J

The wamny’s house where L is from was in England. He briefly mentioned something about being a english tennis champ which was true

KevUrb

I don't know if L was American or not, but I do think he was running a global investigation thing because he had Ray Penber's wife working under him in the past and she was former FBI. But she was also Japanese so I can't be too sure :p

Prateek Sridhar

dude i second this im on team LIGHT idk why but hes not that evil

Ron Jackson Jr

kinda is bro

Ron Jackson Jr

Light is evil but I feel like he's on the good side (which I like) but yeah I don't want both of those L wannabes to take the book.

Ron Jackson Jr

I think L is American only because it seems like in that institution they seem to have known L and Watari well, not to mention that L and Watari are not their real names. Plus when they died some how they got the message only and judging by Light's reaction when N said that he knew about L, it looked like Light thought that L and Watari had no one but themselves. Not only that L only communicated with the US government when he asked for the 12 FBI agents to follow the families of the Japanese police, so he's got good connections with the US. Only other place we could think of is the UK since L did say he spent time their

Abel J Lopez

yea i awlays get confused when they ask that it makes me scartch my head lol

Jboo

Light felt like he was back on the hook after being revealed information from someone's who's practically the real second L

Naruto Uzumaki

Yeah, he's applying his own moral judgement to the world and shaping it how he envisions it. I wouldn't necessarily say "we aren't free" anymore in Light's world. You're just not free from committing harsh crimes. Which I mean.. like Ron said, doesn't sound that bad. Of course, if you've read Injustice from DC where Superman goes bonkers crazy this basically explores a similar concept except everyone knew that Superman could instantly kill the world and rules the world with an iron fist in which there really is no free will. But I do disagree that Light's world equals people are not free

Bungkai

Near is really pale......wait.....OROCHIMARU?!?!?!?

Dale Diaz

I don’t think Lights misses L. It seems that even after L’s death he still feels chained (hence the chains) to L and that L has the upper hand even not being here.

FuegoQuis

yeah what a banger

Oscar H.

Y'all should watch the scene for L's funeral on youtube

Simic Trucido

Lights world is not bad? Of course not because its not his world... its the devils.. meaning he's not ruling gods world.. but the devils.. meaning hes not a god hes a demon... meaning he doesn't see anything he does wrong because he choices whats wrong or right.. who is innocent or guilty... meaning we aren't free anymore

open world

He's the #1 and #2 most successful independent detectives in the world. "why is he rich?" LUL

Dale Diaz

literally hah

gdnsx

there is spoilers

fr seeing the 42 min deathnote ep was a blessing

Concept of good and evil honestly rests within each individual's moral compass. I think one person's definition of good and evil can vary across the board and is partially what makes us unique to one another. I had a discussion with an in-law where we were talking about morality and if given the opportunity to jail 99% of criminals but you forsake 1% of innocent people, would you still do it? So for every 99 people you rightfully judge of heinous crimes, you would end up condemning 1 person for a crime they did not commit. One person said no way, he could not accept that someone who didn't commit a crime getting punished for something that they did not do and that it's unjust, unfair and that the system would therefore be a broken system. I personally said I would do it because 99% of crimes would be gone, and my personal reason is that everyone dreams about absolutes where it has to be all or nothing. But no system (not just limited to crime but all other aspects of life) work like that. We aren't machines where everything is black and white. There's grey area, and that's why I'm okay with 1% of wrongful convictions for 99% of the world's crimes being locked up. (And then you can throw in even more scenarios like what if it's your family being wrongfully imprisoned or not to see where your moral compass is) Fun fact: There's actually quite a bunch of studies citing anywhere between 2-10% of convicted individuals in US prisons are innocent. Light's world isn't so bad, but it's also not good to give one person that much power. Too much power ends up corrupting the entity that harbors that power, I think this is already true in the real world as well. But yeah! Love these kinda things, gets you thinking

Bungkai

I stand with Ron 😂 I understand Michelle but I always been a Light enjoyer & I can't really get too mad at him since it's fictional and I love the chaos. it comes from although a very selfish place, it's still a good place imo. loved the discussion at the end guys

firepingu150XD

MAAAN with a 3 player game there gonna be so much goin on to keep up with I love it though 😭

firepingu150XD

Nothing to spoil anyways... the anime series doesn't Even stick to the manga soooo... doesn't matter

open world

they shouldnt watch L's funeral. as other people said, its not ideal

gdnsx

Watch ls funeral... repeat what you said about light lmao... light is playing god. If he think youre "evil or criminal " you're going to die. Thats why he killed his comrades working with L... and him. This is not about right or wrong. Hes playing god. Generally...in anything...Any one that does that it always doesn't end well for them lmao

open world

Supposedly the creator said L is slightly evil. L don't really have morals. L really do a lot of questionable things without empathy lol.

Devante Vickers

I’ll never forgive Light for what he did to the homie L. 😭

Allokinetic

Near, L, and Mello aren't Japanese. Well L is only partially Japanese.

Devante Vickers

yess if theres a long discussion, imo it makes the video better
