That was literally the whole point of why he said he would obtain power in his own way. He wanted to kill Naruto, but in the end he could not do it when he was standing over naruto while he was unconsious. This was an extremely important moment in the show, and also a moment for sasukes character development. He Will walk his own path, ND not get controlled by his Brother

Naruto wants so badly for sasuke to be by his side and sasuke losing the one genuine connection that he had with someone. Naruto and sasuke don’t have enough experience or weapons in their arsenal to beat kakashi. If kakashi really wanted to hurt them, he could, but they’re his students. So all he cares about is their safety. Also, yeah there are characters much much stronger and more worry some than gaara, kakashi, orochimaru, and itachi.

(Sasuke originally challenges Naruto right after waking from his Itachi-induced coma in the manga without getting up and then randomly getting downed in a filler in-between) They do that shit again right here. For the second half of the hospital scene from 135, watch the last few minutes of 141. Then it's just straight on to the last minutes of 220, and then on to Shippuuden for you guys! =)

I think you guys should have included the latter half of episode 220 in this reaction because that's all you really need to see. Most of it will be weird to watch without context because it'll include bits of the preceding filler arc

Early during the fight Sasuke was actually trying to kill Naruto, but if you go to 8:30 on this reaction when they're both clashing their final attacks together that's your indication. Right as you see his open hand going in pierce through Naruto it zooms in on Sasuke's eye when he makes his decision not to kill Naruto and goes back to showing his hand now becoming a fist to just knock him out. That's why Sasuke says in the scene of him walking away that he's not going to abide everything Itachi's way, ie getting the mangekyou sharingan, and will get power in his own way. Also, as a side thing. During the same zoom in part it shows Naruto's claws contact Sasuke's forehead protector and make's a cut through the leaf emblem. That's symbolic because if you go back to when Itachi and Kisame, the shark guy that's Itachi's partner, invaded the Leaf village it zooms in on their forehead protectors with a similar cut through their village emblems as well. Kind of a thing showing ninjas that have abandoned their villages.

Sasuke clearly said that he let Naruto lived and wanted his own source of power because he’ll just be following in his brother’s footsteps if he does exactly what he said. But he still wants the Mangekyo Sharingan, so now he's trying to get that power in a different way, since he doesn't want to do what Itachi wants from him. And I think you guys are underestimating Kakashi a bit, guys! By the time this fight between Naruto and Sasuke was taking place, Kakashi was much, much stronger than either of them. You must not forget that Kakashi is known as the Copy Ninja in many different countries and has copied more than 1000 jutsus.

As for Akatsuki, while all at various levels of strength, generally speaking, yes every member of the organisation is immensely powerful. Itachi is a member, not the leader. An easy reference would be that they are somewhat like the 12 moons for demon slayer. They are not ranked like that though. They are all relative. But you get the idea. Big bad group full of big bad villains. They are loved by fans for a reason, you will see all of it if you havent already in your actual up to date viewing of the show.
