2023-08-16 06:10:56 +0000 UTCThis could be the reason as well, but I think it has something to do with the number four, "shi (四)" being closely associated with death "shi (死)" in Japan. 40 seconds being relevant is self explanatory, and 6 minutes and 40 seconds is equivalent to 400 seconds, where the number four also appears. I'm guessing they went with this instead of a more obvious 4 minutes for example because of it being an intellectual show, so they would rather have the symbolism be more cryptic, but it being related to 666 when converted to minutes is also plausible.

It's the same type of mystery and suspense anime except you see, know and understand both sides a lot more, and in this one the ones on opposite sides are also friends that then become rivals, turning into enemies, then friends again. It sounds confusing but the anime is just so interesting, just like Death Note, so you definitely need to check it out!!!

2023-08-11 03:56:59 +0000 UTCIn my opinion, if we could get rid of every criminal, it's fair to use death note but in this world, we can't prove if someone did a crime unless we see it by ourselves (like the guy who locked himself in the kindergarten or the r*pe guy at the beginning of ep 1). Even with the police, there are a lot of people who got arrested even though they did nothing, and there are people who got prisoned with false accusations. So, for me, it's not only about the weight of the crime or the condition of those criminals, but whether those "criminals" did horrible things they are accused of.

We all know that as human, behind closed doors or not being in front of the camera it's very different. As time goes on and they watch more shows like this along with seeing characters like Hisoka, Light etc they will casually stop flip flopping and sort of get more comfortable saying their actual thoughts in the moment. Lol We aren't the cops or the moral police at the end of the day and I'm sure they will come to subconsciously realize that. This is all open media that anyone is free to judge with their own subjective opinions at the end of the day.

Also, after tmyou finish Death Note, yall should watch Steins;Gate, it falls under the same category and its sooo good. Its my all time favorite anime and it's short and has a movie. But it's also a shonen from shonen jump magazine after all, and shonen jump is mostly about battles, especially at that time (early 2000s). So, for this one is psychological battle between Light and whoever want to take him down.

Also Code Geass ending is regarded as one of the best endings of any anime of all time. I would highly recommend them watching this anime after death note.

2023-08-10 18:31:34 +0000 UTCfun fact: In the Japanese language there is no letter "L" so R is substituted in when pronouncing! That's why Light is pronounced as "Riato". The detective's name is "L" which doesn't exist in the Japanese language signifying that "L" the character/person shouldn't exist making it difficult for Light to find L. Also L's theme song is sooooo good! I had it as my ringtone for years 😂 Also, animes I would recommend that's similar to Death Note in terms of psychological thriller genre are Monster and ONLY SEASON 1 of The Promised Neverland.
