Princess Mononoke

Edit: Sorry y'all, I thought I scheduled this movie to be posted on the 1st!

Wow!! This movie was so damn good!! Might be my (Michelle) second favorite Studio Ghibli movie, right after Kiki's Delivery Service (my childhood favorite movie).

This movie was made in the late 90s. I still remember getting a copy on VHS. It was great animation for it's time that still holds up. Also the girl who gave Ashitaka the necklace at the beginning was his sister. Ashitaka is a gentleman, not a player lol.

Elizabeth Garcia

It was Billy Bob Thornton. But yes great casting.

It is my fav now too !

In the dubbed, the short fellow Ashitaka meets along the way is voiced by Burt Reynolds. haha Love the dubbed for this movie!

I love this movie its wonderful. Also Grave of the Fireflies is an excellent movie but it is gut wrenchingly sad. So if you watch it, be prepared. And as always I'm throwing my personal vote for Sword of the Stranger!!!

His sister gave him the necklace. Anii-sama means Elder Brother in a formal royal context. If he had a younger brother, he would call Ashitaka, Aniue or Anii-San/Sama. Elder Sister would be Anee-Sama or Aneue.

OH.....MY GOD... My favorite anime movie..

朱宇淵

Moro, the wolf mother, is actually voiced by a famous Japanese drag queen, which was why the character sounded manly lol Apparently, behind the scenes, their performance (especially Moro's laugh scene) made Hayao Miyazaki behave with a lot of excitement, which is hard to do, according to staff. Just a little fun fact ;) This movie's performance in dub and sub is very impressive, which is why it ranks imo in the top 5 best Ghibli films!

Orangeplum

Definitely my favorite Ghibli movie and makes me think of a Miyazaki quote that I'm going to paraphrase terribly but goes along the lines that rather than write about love, he prefers to write about characters that inspire each other to live and that's probably closer to what true love is So happy to have been able to see this again with yall!

This one is my favorite behind Howl's Moving Castle. So many good ones left for you guys to watch too.
