Mermaids are considered the elves of the oceans.
The most advanced water mages have dedicated their lives to become a mermaid and merge with the ocean, however, they will forever lose their human form and will never be able to set foot on land.
Lina might be willing to give up everything to become a mermaid, but she did not want to lose the memory of being with her husband.
