Indirect Kiss

Finished! My biggest traditional piece to date.
12x24 inches, UV reactive acrylic on canvas.
Will be auctioned at the Further Confusion art show!

Planning out this piece digitally first has been such a huge help with streamlining the process. Whenever I would feel lost about what details should go where, I had a guide to rely on.  As before, on my PC I traced out the outlines and printed them out on recycled printer paper. Pieced everything together, covered the back of the paper with oily graphite, then placed it on top of the canvas and redrew over the lines to make the graphite transfer under. Going over the lines again with a black posca was a good move too. Overall it feels like I'm starting to find a good workflow for traditional paintings, and I'm excited how I can push this medium further.
I also posted some of my thoughts on social media:
Starting to really connect with UV paints, and how much depth they add to a painting. Each brush stroke adds to an invisible layer that's revealed with a blacklight, and suddenly all the colors interact differently with each other, new shapes pop forth and others recede, and everything is so vivid.
What excites me the most about this new medium is the extremety of saturation and fullness my colors can achieve. My computer screen can't make colors look this good. It's a 'you should see this in person' sort of thing.
You can tell I've done nothing but digital art for a long time lol.

Also, I will be taking a break for Hanukkah starting today, and will be back to art stuff on January 3rd! Happy holidays!

As the person who got "eternal bliss", I can attest that these look even better in person. I wish I was going to the con where this was getting auctioned.
