Character Customization, and HDRP House Party Alpha is Here!

Hey guys!

We know you've been waiting for a while for this. We've had our heads down working hard to get it out for you!  It's still very early stage Alpha, but we think it's ready enough for you to have some fun in the customizer menu and to enjoy the upgraded graphics!

We've been shifting our focus to upgrading the engine for Office Party!

The HDRP upgrade broke... a lot of stuff!  Feels like almost everything. Haha. But we've been chipping away and we're getting there.

Just because we are transitioning into working on the Office Party engine doesn’t mean that House Party can’t reap the benefits of some of the upgrades and optimizations that we are doing.  In the next Alpha and Beta releases of the House Party base game we will be leveraging the groundwork we’ve been laying down for Office Party, to optimize House Party’s performance, and bring some new features to the mix.

Character Customization:

As covered in our last post, you'll be able to change colors, patterns, decals (on some characters), skin tone, hair root and tip color, and even add effects like emboss and metallic to some clothing pieces.  Check out more example outfits:

We're Switching to Unity's High Definition Render Pipeline (HDRP):

And wait till you see how great the lighting and graphics look!  We have some new graphics menu options, including support for NVIDIA DLSS and FSR Resolution Scaling!

And now for the best part, get your House Party Alpha build now!

Comments

We don't really have enough information to know for sure yet. From what we've seen so far though, it looks like it will cost a little bit more, but will be manageable! So we don't anticipate any changes for the game, or our team!

Just curious - how does the shit-storm that is Unity's announcement and new pricing structure affect the game and your team? Is it going to change the landscape at all?
