Sure, Venture Bros. is just a twist on Jonny Quest, but Jonny Quest was its own twist on existing material — and with its own sense of homoeroticism, no less. In this episode, we take some wild gay swings on an otherwise ordinary episode of the adventure serial to say that the invisible monster named in the title is actually homosexuality. It kind of works.

You were asking when shows needed 100 episodes to go to syndication, and that's basically been the rule since syndicated reruns started, but only for shows for adults. For shows aimed at kids it was generally considered that the MAXIUMUM number of episodes was 60 as kids are both willing to rewatch the same thing over and over more than grown-ups and that they're likely to age out of it before they get bored with it. That's why things like the Jetsons w/its 24 episodes or The Munsters with its 70 ran for ages in afternoon slots aimed at kids, even if the show wasn't originally.
