Kelly brings up a point about smoking that annoyed me in both the corporate and government workforce. It varies from agency to agency but for the government agency I worked for, the federal employees were allowed to take a fifteen-minute, paid break for every four hours they worked. Being a non-smoker, it was often frustrating seeing employees take numerous smoke breaks that often exceeded 15 minutes. One of my bosses was one of those people who took a lot of smoke breaks on a daily basis. One day, something of an emergency came up and I took a longer break than normal to deal with the problem (because life happens). The boss in question got on my case about taking a longer break and I threw his smoke breaks back in his face. Dude didn't bother me again over break policy.
