No doubt this will be lost in the ocean of comments, LOL, but it's crazy that people were getting upset you watched the movies before the series; that's some strange gatekeeping. I've never watched any of the series -- I'll be watching for the first time along with you -- beyond the pilot of this series and the pilot for...I can't remember, but it was one of the current ST series, and I couldn't get into that one. BUT...I watched Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek II, III, IV, Generations, and Star Trek movie from 2009. I had no trouble at all following along and quite enjoyed them. I've watched IV (The Voyage Home) 3x and Generations 2x. I'm happy to be watching the Original Series along with you for the first time.

Yea either way, Leo already said he was going to do Daredevil before he said he would do the winner of the poll. Thats where all the expectation of him watching DD came from. It wasnt the best idea to switch it to a poll after he already gave his word. He only did that because a few people who didnt like DD talked him out of it. People don’t really complain because he drops two other things along with DBZ. If he dropped this series alongside The Office, The Sopranos, or anything else, there’d probably be fewer complaints. But doing a poll, letting patrons argue over the choices, and then not even following through with what won (or anything from the poll) is obviously gonna annoy people. Then, out of nowhere, this show pops up... it's going to get frustrating. I don’t even care about The Office, but at least keep people in the loop. Even the most patient patron is gonna feel some type of way when they’re constantly left guessing. For most people, it’s not about the show itself but more so about how it’s being handled. For whatever reason, Leo just doesn’t seem to get that, or maybe he just doesn’t care since it keeps happening OR this is a paid request LOL . Oh well, life goes on. I’ll just wait for DBZ and eventually give the Star Trek stuff a go. My first comment was a joke anyway, lol. I try not to complain since there’s already plenty of that around here.

I accidently stumbled on the Star Trek series 10 years ago when episode 1 of the Next Generation series came up on the Tv at my Gym - Everyday I went in just before 2am after my shift ended and would watch an episode while doing my cardio and from there I started watching on my own- No spoilers but holy shit it's good and the one after" Deep Space 9" has a very unique vibe that some people enjoy even more than Next Gen. Basically you just unlocked a never ending box of entertaining content with a giant fan base- this is gonna be a fun ride! Cheers!!

For those that need explaining. It’s not about the show selection. Leo watches a variety of shows/movies and maybe a couple people each time have a negative opinion. It’s about polls that seem to be ignored, it’s about listening to one or two people versus a majority, it’s about not doing what was the plan and that’s why there’s so many negative opinions this time. If you want to make it about the show, put Star Trek up in a poll against every franchise that just wasn’t finished and against what was supposed to happen like Daredevil and The Office and I promise you, Star Trek comes in last in all polls. In the end it is Leo’s channel, if people don’t like it they can leave. I think this decision is straight cheeks but I’ll continue to sub and I don’t want to hurt Leo’s bag, but for anyone that says it’s only five bucks, cool, you’re right but that can add up to a lot if people leave. @Lex to answer your question about what shows people are waiting for. He did start a lot that people forget about. He did some of The Office awhile ago but didnt stick to it, If i remember right. He also started Rick and Morty, Attack on Titan, Moon Knight, Invincible, The Boys a few others i cant think of off the top of my head. Not that im complaining about this show. I wanted to watch this awhile ago. never did, and now watching it with Leo works out good for me. But i wouldnt mind seeing those other shows finished too. It's less about trying to get the reaction everyone wants, and more about his non-commitment to anything tv related. You have to take into consideration that Leo builds some of his community off of shows he hasn't finished. I really don't think this show will be any different, unless the years of trying to get him to start and finish something on a consistent schedule is to an end.

That’s not the reason people are upset tho. It’s a few things if I’ve gathered everything correctly.. Firstly, it’s because he’s already ran a poll for what the next tv series would be way back in December and has since then not watched any of it or given any updates on when it would start. Secondly, there are a number of series, both tv and movies, that he has seemingly abandoned that had great success on his platforms that people have been faithfully requesting he pick back up or continue. Thirdly, this Star Trek phase has came out of left field entirely it feels like, especially for anyone who has been around long enough to be familiar with his upload patterns, so to go from two back to back ST films right into the tv series just reeks of something he was paid off for (i.e. Chappelles Show) which is a separate topic in itself, but ultimately unfair if true considering how many people have been asking about reaction costs even paypal’ing him in hopes of getting their requests answered to no avail. Hope this all makes sense.

Star Trek is aspirational — it's about us, here and now, and where we can end up if we get our shit together. They explore these ideals much more in-depth in the second show.

Leo while I have no issue with a complete journey of TOS, you may have received bad advice on the need to watch the entire The Original Series to watch the movies. I watched these films growing up with just limited knowledge of TOS beforehand and wasn't lost. The movies do a good job in filling in the gaps while re-establishing great characters for the newer audience at the time. However, there are certain episodes way more important than others that will give you the essential backstory of these characters and potential plots within the films. If you watch these, you'll probably be good. Please other Trek heads, include other episodes of TOS where you feel add important lore/story points to Leo's understanding of the universe. The storytelling suffered greatly from it. The third season is generally a skippable season of trek and considered one of the worst in the long franchise history. I’m not going to unsubscribe but at some point you have to keep your promises, bud. Maybe finish some shows or series too. Even though many may not like this we all can agree you’re a good guy, but there’s only so many broken promises people will tolerate. Make a list of series you’ve just stopped, movie franchises etc… knock a movie off that list once a week or an episode of a show once a week to really keep a balance.

Alright Leo, I'ma give you the 411 on Star Trek man. You're on the right track with this. You dont have to watch all of TOS or the other shows but its dope if you do. If you're doing the shows you wanna watch Star Trek, the next generation, deep space nine, voyager, lower decks, picard, Strange new worlds. You can skip Discovery and Enterprise and the original Animated Series but they have their moments. Movies, Star Trek 3-6 are related to the original Star Trek show you're watching. 7-10 are related to The Next Generation.. You'll want to finish 3-6 and the original series and start the Next Generation before getting into 7. Worf is my favorite you'll love him If you wanna know any episodes to skip or which ones take precidence like Space Seed or Best of Both Worlds, let us know. Star Trek is a Long literal Trek through the Stars and that Trek can last a lifetime so noone would blame you for skipping the unimportant stuff. But love that you're watching this. Its great Scifi
