My first college roommate also beat off relentlessly when I was in the room. I asked him not to do it when I was around, and told him like...you know my class schedule, just don't do it when I'm here, or do it in the shower or something. And yet, he kept doing it. Didn't matter if I was asleep or awake. At first I kept it to myself but told some friends in the dorm when it became too much, and he got bullied _relentlessly_ after that, but it didn't bother me because I felt like I gave him plenty of leeway before then. Eventually two stoners with single rooms on the floor who were buddies agreed to swap with us, and I had single rooms from then until I graduated. Dude ruined the whole idea of roommates for me forever. He transferred after the end of the first year, I think.
